Yep that's right, there was a contractors mower made here by Seaton mowers near Port Adelaide.
A guy by the name of Len Bowes who was a retired champion speed way rider who started his own repair shop then moved onto mowers
Here's some pics of the Rover and the arrows show what parts he made which were heavy duty including his own thicker chassis, the unit was sold all grey colour like the Honda.
The drive dogs had the metal drives replaced by stone which speeded up the machine and never slipped on wet grass like the originals would.I still had a drive shaft in the shed as per picture.
The Rovers sold for around $500 and the improved version was around $1000 which was 30 years ago.
You would get use to the width of these and pre plan your run around the yard.
It never got clogged with wet grass, always had a full catcher, the catcher flap opened and all the grass just fell out no shaking required, catcher just dropped straight onto the two hooks effortlessly.
The rear rubber wheels wore down every year and you cut them off and with boiling water warm up the new tyres and slip them ever the rim with a screw driver. Plus they made a good slashing machine with flap up or down.
