Only number i could find was on the chassis...Model number 1611

I was looking at removing the engine and using it on a self propelled mower and fitting a rover 910 engine in it's place.

But if the briggs and stratton is to small a horse power for SP then it won't be worth it.

On this site it says it's a 5.5 HP just looks small for a 5.5

    Hi BeetleJuice
Mine looks the same as yours and I was told it is a 4 HP briggs and stratton by a mechanic. Don't know if it is fact but a lot of big bob's have 4HP on so sounds right.
    Cheers

I got that feeling too,it looks the size of a 4HP

Ok so the next question...How will this run on a 22" Rover SP..Anyone ever run this size engine ?.
    No OHV on this engine.

I had a 20inch sp rover ''TURBO THRUST'' back late 90`s with this engine and it was 7-10 yrs old had it for 1yr and killed it....
I am sure it was 4hp and made late 80`s to mid 90`s
Power was mild... it was slow....pushed it most times
