It was not done when due last time as client said leave it to thicken. There was lots of tall cut debris to remove too, Plus there is a 1.8mtr metal loop fence within it to watch on one side. His front hedge is no ladder required, but hard up against a house and the hedge is wide. Not the scissor lift height or platform stuff you do.
Used the Husky extended battery hedger unit with 5.2amp battery as usual. Smaller battery is better balanced and lighter and lasts for ever.
People only want their house done asap. The heat is your problem not there's, delay too long 1-1/2 week or more and they will find someone else. It's already happened to me since New Yrs eve. Your've been in the game years/decades more than me and know it well.
Got to work every day this week and wed is 45, thur 43, frid 44, but they will be shorter days. Only do hedges for current customers, decline all calls for hedge trimming from people I don't know. It's not my favourite past time, I do get a lot calls for hedges and I pride myself on dead straight tops, very slightly cambered top edges & non wavy sides. Even the job today has resulted in spin off calls over the years.
