Last week showed some 35's in the mix but they were Humid and worse.
    Info from BOMeterology. Yesterday 43, Mon 14th 42, Tue 44, Wed 46, Th 41 Frid 40.
Customers in general don't care if its hot, They just show care AFTER you have completed their house. "Like hope this is your last job, Nah 2 more to go I say. Having said this some do care as well.

I've switchover to Hamilton Branded Sunscreen Lotion again late last week as my daughter has a Honor's Graduate Degree in Dermatology and when she worked in skin cancer clinic it was Hamilton Suncreen they upselled. Chuck out Banana boat too if anyone has it.
Bought the $7.99 Aldi one early last week on impulse, but was getting burnt the day I started using it and l'm brown and tanned due to my location inland. I got it because my daughter checked my trailer and found mine where a little out of code. Daughter is now working in a Dermatologist/Skin Medical Clinic and sees Skin Melanoma weekly if not daily.

When she was at the Skin cancer Clinic couple of years back,
She had the fly in Snr Sydney Doctor check the total body and treated both of my arms for Skin Cancer with the powerful Cancer drug Efudix Fluorourcil a couple of yrs ago to replace all my arm skin cells. Even though I was in the fair to moderate range being an ex Retail Store Mgr indoors for 33 yrs. Consultations were free for me being her dad. Had me daughter check my arms yesterday whilst she was around and said it was Ok as a casual visual check. My other daughter work in Doctors Practices and sends me a texts on 40+days to be careful, got one today of her too as she sees the result of heat stroke and other things in her Medical Practice work place.

Tomorrow morning of the 44 deg day I have to do a hedge at ladder height that's 50 mtr long, yes not ideal for the hedge or me. But has to be done this one.
Ive some 225 mtrs of box hedges on a luxury farm house on an elevated slope at chest height that awaiting since the heat set in the week of xmas.

Coles have Gatordae Powder on special at the moment bought 9 containers yesterday, first year Ive used this stuff.

    Take care peoples.
    Cheers Garry

Re Suntan, me daughter say’s whilst using expired suntan lotion is not ideal and should not be used, but better than using nothing. The effectiveness of the product diminishes and the way it's stored has much more to do with the product effectiveness. Store in a car or glovebox and it destroys the products effectiveness much more rapidly. Mine is stored in the upright side trailer tool box which is vented front and black and my trailer is paint white in the mid to upper sides.
Her number 1 choice in sunscreen lotion is Neutrogena, but may not be practical for us.

Yep, of course one wears the wide brimmed mesh vented Barmah hat

Albury/Wodonga, I'm always watching your temps as I've a very good friend doing what we do in S/Hill.
With the 4.30pm Weather Forecast update, the 46 went to 45 and they up the temps for Thur & Frid, how rude is that !!!!.

Just googled the IRSleeves, they seem Ok from what I read. When I had the arms Ufudix treated. I didn't need them done, I just did it as it replaces your skin cells in my case to new and lowers risk into later years. So I slip, slop ,slap all 12 mths and on checks/nose/lips.
I find the Barmah hat last years and years with washing under the garden hose, best wide brim I've come across with the wrap around head part full mesh and blockout on the top and rim. Camping stores sell them along with Safety stores. The hi vis shirt is the usual 50+ block out.

Edit; Just ordered a Beige/Skin colored Iceray from a golf shop in Lavington for $26.50 delivered on ebay. Whilst I don't like the long sleeves except in winter. I'll give this a go, if ok for me I'll order more as I guess they would need washing each day. Figured beige color ok as darker colors may attract heat and well white in our line of work will not stay clean very long.

I used to wear legionaries hats but changed a few years ago as I found they didn't offer enough shade to the sides of the face now wearing http://www.kmart.com.au/product/ventilator-hat/1548807 cheap and seem to work ok I also have another hat that doesn't offer as much sun protection but it's more ventilated,I only wear this on really hot days and I'm not allowed to wear it if the wife is working with me something about being embarrassed it's like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Cap-Lady-...WV73XmWxPeQWoQ note I did cut the ribbon off as I couldn't see that it served any purpose ( actually I thought the wife might let me wear it when she was with me if I did I was wrong )

Your Cap lady hat was it in the Melb Cup pink color ? - if so - So Nice. Ok your gona say the mexico hessian brown colour.

The one I wear now that never wears out is this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Barmah-C....c100677.m4598. Zoom over the ebay picture and you see the ventilation mesh. l've the navy blue one, which I think gives me the colour co-ordinated "Mr Kool" mowerman look with my navy blue Kmart shorts and deep navy blue coloured inserts within Visitec Hi Vis shirt, PLUS the navy blue socks.

    ,

There about $40, not what is priced in my link

Widest brim straw hat I can find after 9am at this time of year.
Gaz, your hat looks good but, is the brim wide enough ?

The leginaires hat won't protect your face any better than a baseball cap, side on to the sun & there's no protection.

Im not a big fan of sunscreen either but Im trying to be.
Not so much fun with the sunscreen when your sweating, then u mow a dusty lawn. No longer a snowflake ! eyes:

    Cheers Fred.

Re Brim size never come home with face, neck, ears or top of shoulders issues with the Barmah, but one must wear the hi neck polo 50+ Hi Vis type with 2 buttons done up at the front this time off year . If mucking around at home wearing a t shirt and the hat one is in real trouble so on goes an old hi vis with it.

When your got daughters in the medical field and one totally specialising in the skin, cosmetic enhancement and women's stuff. You learn that sunscreen is your friend like weeds are to us too.
My daughter with higher qualification has seen some horrid stuff. In our town proper skin cancer checks have a waiting period from 3 months to 6. I'm fortunate to get a casual check to whenever and she can have me booked using the correct magnification equipment under a doctors eye anytime.

Be a fan of sunscreen me thinks although l'm not a perfect in what I do re sun protection.

Edit; one of her past Skin Doctors who had every letter of the alphabet after his name use to drive the Mercedes with frontal body sunscreen protection along with long sleeved driving gloves to protect hands 'n' arms. Serious.

Me daughter told me two stories on two individual cases of chaps who had skin cancer over the top of his head and the other being facial. Images she described that only Steven Spielberg could recreate.
That's what got me to do the Efuldix cancer cream arm skin cell renewal treatment which I did coming across winter as sun and heat is your worst enemy during the treatment process and I had a bad reaction in my left arm during the treatment.
Now I'm gona do this ladder height hedging job tomorrow on a forecast 44 day. Today I actually got two welfare texts from my youngest daughter asking was I Ok. That's nice, but I had took today off seeing I worked the weekend.
    Cheers Garry

My hat is Beige I also have a black one that's why I can't understand why the wife complains
The Kmat hats could have a wider brim but they are still wider than a lot of others not as wide as the Bunnings straw hats but they last me less than a week
The thing I don't like about the Barmah is the way they plaster Australia all over it but they make a lot if not all of them in Indonesia

After reading you post ian, went to the ute and my Barmah has the linen tag inside "Made in Australian". Must be a collectors item and I'd better stop wearing it, to show any future grand children that hats used to made in Australia once upon a time.
No wonder I've been wearing it for years and its still on top shape.

Reckon if you wore the Bunnings brimmed one you would need to call your business "Taco's Lawnmowing Services". Yep googled that name and there is one in Pittsburg Kansas.
Bed time for an early start tomorrow, too many posts here for one day.
    Cheers Garry

I know some camping type stores sell the hat. I bought mine from a Safety Protector store, but the local camping store sells them too. When I got mine it was $35, expect $40 now. But they last for years without dye fade in the sweat areas.

How much is a skin Cancer Consult, no idea never paid for one, always got them for free back then. But a trained doctor's eye goes over your total body with underwear left on with a intense light Magnifying device. I had a mark/growth in one leg that worried me for years, plus a couple other marks here and there.
Doctor said, nah all good, blame your parents as its a birth marks.
I had a few skin tag/polyps burnt of with liquid nitrogen whilst there, but didn't pay for that.

If they reference you on a multi human photo example chart and say you fall into such and such, ie; 1(Low) to 20 or 25 (high) risk category. Then recommended the Efudix cancer cream treatment (even if only a precaution) which you buy in tubes. It was $50 a tube a couple of years ago and you needed approx $300-$350max worth for two arms. Much cheaper for face only.
Just do it me thinks as this powerful renal cancer drug prepared/applied as a cream will destroy the current damaged skin cells and in the case of my arms, it renewed with new skin cells, like much younger arms.
On a face they may apply to one side at a time like they did with my arms.

I repeat, it's a powerful cancer prevention drug that needs Qualified Doctors Assessment referal and progressive doctors appointments to monitor progress. With my right arm treated first, it was plain sailing. Then I had a very severe reaction on the left arm, photos of it would stun you if your saw them. My daughter sent photos to the Clinic RN on a Sunday in personal time. Plus she sent photos to the doctor who had flown back to work the Sydney Hospitals over the weekend. They urgently told me to cease applying the cream and had me an appointment first up Monday morning. Back then my daughter didn't have her Honours Grad Degree, just a Diploma and just worked in the clinic.

Its better to be safe or safer, than sorry with skin cancer or with any concerns one may have. Why am I somewhat close to the subject, its because of my daughters as mentioned above. But don't take my info as gospel, its only my experiences first had.

Edit, text in from daugther Consul at a Specialist Dermatologist Clinic Doctor = $220. A GP visit is cheaper
    Cheers Garry
