The difference a few k's make. I got a full day(my normal 6hrs) in yesterday, was a little bit of misty drizzle on occasion, but bearable.

knoww hat you mean..my area is dingley but i live in the clyde area and the two and chalk and cheese in weather...today driving to work it was raining , had been all night and as usual i saw two ride on mowers bogged to the axles..why you drive over drains got me beat, but somehow they do it a lot down here...i reckon in the past 2 months ive seen 10 rideons up the creek....they are not sole operators but large companies so the boys driving them dont give a toss by the way the handle the machines.

    Default hows the weather

We have had the most consistent rainfall this year that I can remember. Just as it looks likes everything turning to dust along comes another nice little drizzle. We've got fruit bats in the garden and yesterday first time ever I saw a couple of rainbow lorikeets (never seen around here) hanging around. It's like the sub tropics has moved south. I'm just about knackered though. Must be due for the worlds biggest drought next year, this is Australia after all.

I wish I had your problem Paul.
I mulch mowed one this morning @ 10 weeks. Had to change mowing pattern so my old wheel tracks didn't confuse me.

Lucky to be doing a bit of hedge/shrub trimming and working for wages at a local farm to keep things rolling

I was going to pull the pin yesterday on a couple of cleanups due to the constant drizzle, it wasn't pleasant but thank goodness I didn't else I'd be really stuffed as it is raining even more today.

As a 63 yo semi retired mechanical tradesman this mowing is really knocking me about with heat stress to such a point I'm starting to flick anyone who postpones a regular cut.

BSD, I really hope your in an established position were you can be more assertive about running YOUR business.
For me, they can do this once only, until Ive educated them.
If they expect regular professional service, they can't expect to chop & change willy nilly, its unrealistic.
Sure, if the value isn't there & they wish to change the interval of the cut, thats fine within reason but, if they want to be a regular customer, then they need to be a regular customer.

Also, you can't let this heat stress go knocking you about. Its a marathon, not a sprint, & you're still in the race!
More than ever, Im trying to manage situations where I just used to plough on through.
With a little nouse theres not much difference in the result!
At 39, Im finally starting to wake up to myself ............. eyes:

    Cheers Fred.

Seems the folk who max out spending over xmas and are short on cash. Just lately a few (6) of the 'can you cut it shorter' customers are getting on my nerves to the point where I feel ok when I just tell them I'm no longer able to cut the jungle.
