We use the BOM one I never have a problem with it, set the link in favourites directly to the radar screen and then just click on the state tab to get the forecasts for the week. But I don't think they have radar images for your area mowjoe?
~ Joanne ~
Yeah, I use the BOM website too... Seems pretty accurate, it's never gonna be an exact science, too much chaos
A radar image is a radar image but unless I'm doing something wrong (which is quite possible...computer cripple) the BOM one the image is always a few hours old wherby the elders one is current
The images on the BOM site are updated every 20 minutes I think. You can subscribe to the site which gives you live feeds but I think using the 256km radar loop gives us enough of an idea about what's coming and how fast.
We have a friend who ran his own car detailing business which is also another weather dependent profession and he subcribed to BOM and thought it was great. Must ask him how much it cost next time I see him

i also find this site can be usefulHTML Code:http://www.bom.gov.au/jsp/watl/rainfall/pme.jsp
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
sorry try this link

Just finished a job before the heavens opened up at Castle Hill today. Did another all afternoon job at Winston Hills and we got a bit wet at times.
Came home, pulled in the driveway and couldn't go anywhere, huge gum tree branch had fallen down in the storm and was blocking my whole driveway, damm, just when i thought i had finished work for the day.

More of that 4-lettered wet stuff here - over 100mm of rain in 24 hours, so no way we could get any mowing done, again, today.
At least it gave us time to catch our breath and get some other important things done around the place, though.

Glad to hear that you're getting rain over in the east, albeit a bit too much in places! We still haven't had any! The last time we had any decent rain was in May last year. The last time we had any at all was 28mm a week before xmas & it's been a very long, dry, HOT summer! Consequently, the lawn mowing has all but dried up & we're living off of yard tidies. Even the yard tidies are starting to dry up, as nothing is growing!
We're starting to get calls to remove trees & shrubs that have died due to the drought. I guess we'll get a few more of these for a while to come!
I hope we get some rain this year!
not much rain this week Monday was the only day, All the lawns have dried out back to mulching and as of this afternoon I have caught back up.
We need only about 40mm of rain over the next few weeks to bring our dams to 40% and have level 6 restrictions relaxed.
Bring it on
Mate, with all the rain you guys have been getting, you're dams are still only 40% full???? I think your state government need a huge kick up the arse!
Our dams are 60%+ full & we've had 2 fifths of **** all rain for 4 years!
And I thought our state government were useless! (well, still do really! )
