I think someone at the Weather Channel might have lost the plot for next weeks' forecast for Birdsville.
Weatherzone has it significantly cooler after the weekend. http://www.weatherzone.com.au/qld/ch...try/birdsville

50 deg would smash the Birdsville January record temp by over 2 degrees. (although the current recording station has only been going since 2001)

Yep, checked W/C again today and it's be toned down a little and the 50's removed. But you would still want a decent esky with an endless supply to get through it.

I have 3 loaded weather apps on my iphone and rarely do they say the same and elders on the PC when rain is forecast it always forecasts more mm of it.

Perhaps alittle optomistic but, generally they're pretty good over a 3-4 day forecast.
I'd back em in on 80-90% rate over that period.
Now we expect 10 days flawless
Over that period, its just a general observation.
    Cheers Fred.

    Fred,

So when thunderstorms are forecast we can expect the W/Channel to know how many lightening strikes will hit each postcode. I'm sure there would be iphone app for that.

I feel sorry for you blokes with persistent 40+ days. Luckily in sydney we have only been getting the odd extremely hot one followed by a cool change.

Yeh pretty much the same here but I think we are going to get a taste of very hot weather for at least the next week. Early starts and finishes are the best at the moment...

    No mowing today.

I've just finished phoning todays clients to them know that I'm not coming. Nice to know that all of them wouldn't want me out in todays heat.

Driving home today i said to my wife do you know what i haven't seen any of today? she said yes other stupid mugs out mowing lawns!
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

A pleasant 29 deg here in Gods country ATM.
Supposed to get to 38 later next week, so that's when I head up the mountains for a couple of days mowing.
Grass is growing on the mountains as they had a couple of good storms over xmas, but it's stopped down here again.
Did 4x 1/4 acres and a big corner nature strip this morning and didn't fill a woolpack. $1.70 in tip fees.

Worked today and the temp got to 40.
Tomorrow I have to work to prepare a church for Sunday service, went to the local Fire Brigade to make sure I could do it tomorrow if a Total Fire Ban was declared, seeing the church grounds loosely speaking have a rural edge to one side but I do have their required green grass clearances. They said no problems.

But now the heat continues with the Bom.gov site showing the above 40's to finish by next Wednesday and then a cool change to 35,38 and 39. What a slack cool change.
My misses is a dress maker against other things. Best I get to her whip up a Superman costume tonight to wear as I struggled a little today in my High Vis and Yakka Blue Shorts outfit.

What winge I'm having lately with the weather.

Edit, Thanks Ian, took me iphone out of me pocket when I got home.
    Cheers Garry

Banging on about the Weather still.
Worked till 1.00pm and thought bugger it, time to go home and sink a Crownie or two in the pool. Now I know why.
Will do two clients on Sunday mid morning onwards who are ok with it as I'm falling behind in my schedules.
Now we have humidity, light storms & some rain, enough to make the grass grow for another mow.

    Cheers Garry
