Finished at 12.30 today, it was 38 then it's now 42 and still climbing, lots of fire south of us. Hume Hwy at Tarcutta is closed and traffic is being diverted. Hope all the firies and locals are alright. This bloody wind will not be helping 30 kph and sometimes more.

Did 2 jobs this morning that I couldn't get through yesterday. Was home just after 8 when it was nudging 30. Registered 45.5 in my back yard around 1pm. Now sitting on 43. A nice cool 30 inside.

I'm still going. Glad it doesn't get a lot hotter than mid to high 30s here though. Just topped up on my electrolyte drink and energy gel from the chemist and stopped home to mix it up before I head back out. Trying to stay properly hydrated when you have Crohns Disease is a balancing act.

It just got to 30 here today, but knocked off early anyway as a show of solidarity with our southern comrades.

I shouldn't skite too much as it looks like our temps are on the way up from tomorrow too.

Yep,won't be as bad as down south but I think a day at the beach might be in order

Don't feel like going to another job whilst next job is quite close by as well in green grassed residential area.

Terrible conditions for upper Vic and NSW today, would not like to live in a heavily timber area. Lets hope the 08/01/12 is recorded as just another hot day.

Edit: now staying home, too hot, too windy.
Decided to toughen up and re uniformed, hooked up the trailer again and headed back out. Just got home (6.30pm), now have a few invoice to e-mail out. Yep it was pretty hot and windy+

One customers who visitors in their home whilst they were out at work, asked why I was 3hrs late too.
    Cheers Garry

Always say early or mid morning, or midday or late arvo and add the approx to it.
The ones visited today I have key/or roller door access, but this one job had an older visitor staying there unknown to me who was expecting me at midday and I got there at 3.00.
If I hadn't off got remotivated to go back out and work, the house owner would have been texted later in the day.

Redeye, glad to hear your OK, just hope your fellows neighbours get through it OK, as nite falls the aircraft support head back to base and NSWRFS site says its still out of control.
What a crap day weather threat wise for many.
    Cheers Garry

Still 36 degrees here in Sydney at 9.30pm, amazing, southerly is meant to hit between 2 and 4am.
I was on my first job this morning at 7am, finished up at 10.30am and went to the movies with the wife and kids.

Still nudging high thirties under our pergola. Mark stayed home today. I wish that cool change would move a bit faster, the firies would sure welcome it.

No work today... i was up at 6am and drove up to Nelsons Bay for a day of water sports and relaxation. Still got to 38 - 40 there.... used plenty of sunscreen but i forgot to wear my hat (sculp is now really really burnt).

not really motivated for my 7am start in the morning

Stuff that! The next 6 days here are forecast for 35/36 and that's going to be bad enough!
