My wife woke up at 5am to go for a run and said it started to sprinkle for 20 - 30 seconds... i was asleep and apparently gave a smile to her and said, no work today

If only i could remember saying it lol... anyway, i'm off to work now as there is no rain in sight (imo)

I geared up for a garden reno this morning. Drove down the street at 7am and the light but steady rain started.... drove back home to wait for it to stop... It hasnt stopped all day.

some people will believe in anything even fairy tales like this
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Are you home Kathryn? I heard the golf-course and many other places were under water. We just got home today and not a drop here while we were gone.

On the other hand 570mm in 2.5 days at Bulgun near Tully in North Queensland from the cyclones up there....

we had some wet carpet in the hallway and huge pile of laundry/drying as all the karate stuff was stored in the same area. but it could have been heaps worse. from the looks of the tide marks in the garden the guinea pigs would have drowned if they had been 2 m to the other side of the clothes line. water picked up and carried edging that had pins holding it in place and i spent a far bit of yesterday raking up lawn cuttings from from who knows wheres garden that ended up around our fences. ill post photots wheni get around to taking them off the camera. theres a few roads closed as the rivers are up. we desperatly needed rain but 6" in 7 hours means that most was run off. its nice to have green lawns for a bit

Looking good for some decent rain over the next few days for much of Qld & NSW. Depending on what ex TC Oswald does, could be some really big totals.
    Bring it on.

Rain and storms threatened every day this week but hardly had a drop of rain. Bloody cracks opening up in the ground everywhere because it's so dry. I've seen some over an inch wide in places. At least we've had a fair bit of humidity and some morning dew which has help to keep some lawns alive. Hopefully the traditionally february storms arrive and liven things up before winter.
