I got a text from my Dad last night who lives in Calliope in Queensland. They have had 500mm since Wednesday and the river near them is almost up to the house. They have no power but luckily they have a generator. Their neighbours house is flooded.

I heard that 4.8 metres of water is running over the spillway at Awoonga Dam near Calliope, Stripes.
Callide dam near Biloela is releasing water to try to keep up with inflows. Downstream is expecting major flooding.
I was talking to friends near Rocky last night and they have had over 500mm since Wednesday as well.
Only 20mm here so far and hoping for more significant falls today/tomorrow, but looks like the biggest falls will be along the coast. Suits me. I don't want 10-20" here.
Was just looking at a few weather-watch sites and some of those facebook amateur-experts (who are usually on the money) and there's supposed to be a huge cloud band moving in over Brisbane from the north very soon. Might miss you Ed and I'm sort of hoping it misses here too with our leaky roof situation at the house!
just started raining here. its such a slow moving system

Very slow hey! And it doesn't seem to be producing the huge rainfall totals here either (like further north got). Not yet anyway.
180mm in 48 hours - rainwater tanks now full and overflowing and the dam is near to overflowing. Couldn't get any better after the long dry, but no mowing for a while now.
there is some pretty colours starting to show on the radar - got all my appendages crossed

Had 3 mini tornadoes in the local area here.2 People trapped in a car which a big Pine tree fell on. A few roofs off there were 150 homes damaged at burnett heads. Bargara Bowls club has had major damage as well as I.G.A and woolworths.
Sitting in me shed having a few drinks with water around me Ankles.

At Bargara. Right on the cab too. A bit Unlucky.
Just had to put in a call to the SES for tarps. Roof is leaking and water running down walls and floors. Run out of towels and buckets...
Hope you are still ok over there this morning Neil. Sounds like you have copped the brunt of it overnight. A lot of water still to come down the Burnett as it's in major flood for a long way up.
I've gauged 123mm since 9am yesterday but nothing severe. 175mm at Kingaroy.
Seems like the worst rain and winds are staying east of the range.
I'd hate to be a hydrologist at Wivenhoe dam at the moment.
