Re: hows the weather
Up to 125mm, still raining constantly......no flooding in the area.....yet. We've got flood warnings out for the Manning Valley. Been shuffling jobs I know I won't be able to get near, further down the list. Got about 4-5 I won't get into for a couple of weeks.

Just ripped up the carpet and mopping up here in our downstairs kids'-room which was rebuilt, re-walled etc and supposedly waterproofed at a cost of $15,000 after the 2011 storms.

Horrible in Bundy - higher levels than 1893, highest in history of records.
Feels insignificant in comparison but part of our ceiling just collapsed where it had been leaking.

Re: hows the weather
Heard about the mandatory evacuation of the Northside there Neil. Not good at all.
I ended up with 296mm all up since last Thursday. Still light drizzle off & on. No damage here but the roads are a mess. Insignificant problem compared to what so many other people are going through.

Re: hows the weather
4.40pm Monday 28th Jan.
Had the day off and had hoped to do numerous minor jobs around home.
But got fascinated by the mega rains and winds in Qld and now into northern NSW that has been broadcast non stop on TV as I watched.
Whilst today I went to Bunnings to up grade some Fire Fighting stuff for our family's fire plan as I live on the edge of a rural area. (Not that we have any threats to deal with currently)
Then to comprehend the contrast in conditions within our vast land up north.
Could not imagine the impact of a flood and the mess/mud, structure damage caused, let alone the fresh food problems from the lengthy power outages to homes and food retailers.
Be safe Guys/Gals.

Re: hows the weather
This might sound harsh but I think it would be easier to be flooded than the situation some are in at the moment. We have water streaming through the roof and can't get any help at all. Rang insurance, rang SES three times. We won't get any flood compensation or government help. Since the section of roof collapsed the water is spreading through the ceiling now finding other low spots to start leaking from. I'm at my wits end, stressed and making myself sick in the gut. This is before even trying to keep teh boys from worrying and keeping them occupied at the same time.

Re: hows the weather
Paul, it must be difficult, I am lucky enough not to have ever gone through something like that. All i can do is offer words of support and let you know I am thinking of you and your family through this trying time. The thing about us Aussies is that we are resilient and pull through in the end.
