Looks like 3 days of rain which started Wednesday and can't work, Grrrr!!!, could be 4 days if I include this Saturday.

Pretty expensive to have days off as one tends to go out and spend money. You add that to the lost income and bugger its huge.
Paid me Hilux insurance and got 2 new Tyres for it yesterday, b payed some big dollars into super, did major supermarket shop and organised to have my central heating attended too whilst I'm home. Plus putting 4 new tyres on my wife's car today too.
Please "Rain Gods" back off a little so I can make some money plus I'm bored at home to the max. The books are reconciled and I have nothing to do.

Edit, To the "Wind God" when the rain stops can we have some wind (not too strong) to dry the grass a little.
    Cheers Garry

I just be happy to have enough cash to pay my electricity and rates bills at the moment. Sick of being sick and doubly sick of this wet weather. Got that much work I can't get done at the moment.

Sorry to hear about shi**y weather holding things back, do you lose customers when things fine up and all the backlog clients want it done before anyone else, and others just cancel and start using another mowerman, just to get it done, kind of like when you go into a shop and the waiting is forever, so you go to some other less busy shop...raving on a bit, sorry.

I know what you mean just spent over $600 between Bunnings, officeworks, Elders (poisions), and a few other bits and pieces, and lost about $500 in lost income, an expensive day. Much better to be out working me thinks.

That's how I look at rainy days, loose say $XXX something income and go out and spend $XXX equals a $XXXX day.

OK, it's been raining for the past 2 days and I'm in my house roof doing some thing since I've been home. The phone has rang three time for jobs one private residence and two commercial this arvo whilst in the roof.
One Commercial I look after already and want work done this weekend due to a 50m fence going in that is smothered in garden, which I'll squeeze in. The other was the Store Mgr of *unnings wanting a quote to service there carpark/surrounds which I had to knock back sadly as I've too much on my plate as it is.

It's Winter, Raining and the phone still rings.
Rainfall, pasted in from our local weather station.

26.6mm Midnight to Midnight (ie, yesterday)
9.4mm Since Midnight (ie, so far today)
    16.4mm 9am yesterday to 9am today
    115.4mm Total this month
    Cheers Garry

agreed does get expensive..thats how a lot of people when they retire soon run out of money because they have the time to spend it.....one advantage is spending time on the equipment as i did today and when you have time its great to sort out existing and potential problems..actually may save you money as you will hopefully avoid break downs and down time..
they say showers only for the rest of the week ,my backlog has got so long i need help...

My backlog has now got to the point where some jobs are rolling into the next scheduled visit, so eventually will end up just dropping one visit, not good for the bank balance.

Dunno...kind of enjoying the break....especially after the wife received the worst news about a friend's little one who is only a few weeks older than our youngest, gave her the biggest cuddles and enjoyed a rare day together. Its not always about how much you can earn in a day gents.

    Sterlo
    off topic...

My wifes friend had to hold her 13 month yr old daughter for 3 hours once off life support whilst she gulped for breath....passed peacefully due to the prescribed morphine..but if anything made me think more about euthanasia this did...no-one should have to go thru this (esp twice as her friend has)....if ur dog is old or sick they get more dignity in death than we do..

    Sadly...Sterlo

    Sterlo,

Don't know what to say, I have two daughters 22 & 20, the 22 yr old with health issues that has been previously posted.
But what you conveyed is just too sad to even imagine. Re euthanasia I have experienced the need for it over a 2 week period with my now deceased Mother who I sat with over that 2 wks.
But with a 13 month old child, phewww there are no words, just extreme sadness.
    Cheers Garry

Sad to read, but, we have another day of rain in Melbourne...I was dressed ready for work then the good Daughter asks if i changed into normal gear I could to drop her daughter at TAFE, but I stayed in the ute all the way home, spent way to much with the last week off the tools, a nice backlog of work building up.

I'm that bored I even logged back into here..lol, just kidding......(Not Really), I do wish this rain would stop,,,,didn't we just go though a Drought!
