Apparently people have also been nicking stuff off the firetrucks as well.
As far as weather goes.....as well as needing rain for the fires, I need rain here too.....badly. It's almost slower than winter at the moment.
this is the report from the Climate Commission on extreme weather predictions if interested (based on science, not radio shock-jock propaganda lol)

Work to live, life's too short..
Specialising in small and Large area collection mowing with Walker Mowers.
Client pays me $400 to mow his acreage property twice before the end of the month. Will be handing back $200 because no rain - grass is burnt and nothing has grown. Can't charge him for something that doesn't need doing and take advantage of that trust. Maybe catch it up when the wet season comes. Gee - I really hope that is soon!!
How is everyone else doing with no or minimal rain?

Seems anything north of vic/nsw border in drought conditions. Drier around here atm than middle to late summer any other year. where the hell is all the rain??
We got a whopping 1.2 mm overnight. Prediction was for showers, 2-6 mm, and possible thunderstorms. Saw black clouds heading towards me while cleaning up a garden and thought "here it comes". Got one drop of rain then blue skies appeared. WTF. Seriously sick of mowing dusty lawns and coming home looking like a coal miner.
Just about ready to pack it in

40mm over Manly way this morning and flash flooding. Not a drop over the rest of Sydney, lawns are getting crispier by the day.

Starting to feel like I'm back in the Alice.......forecast since June has been fine and warm to hot. In Alice the forecast from Oct to April is "fine and warm to hot with a possible afternoon shower or storm" Had that forecast for 10 years I was there.........down here they just seem to skip the "possible shower or storm"/.......
Since I started out 4 years ago, there's only been 1 year with good reliable rainfall. Unfortunately that was my first year. Things have become progressively worse since. Just for a joke 1 summer was even completely washed out. By the time the rain stopped that year, the grass had stopped growing. It was followed up with a cold dry winter, a hot dry spring and a mild dry summer. This year we had basically no rain between january and june. We had about a week or 2 of good rain in june from memory. But nothing since then. It's now october which should be one of the busiest months. Many of my good clients would weekly by now. Instead I am doing drivebys after 4 weeks. The bills keep comin, but there's bugger all comin in.
