Now the high roller hissy fit is over back to business - mowing dust again and long range forecasters are predicting looonnnng hot dry summer. A couple of semi regs are on the don't come till I ring situation already. Don't know how anyone survives on mowing alone without another form of income..

Its all a bit depressing, the last few years have been really dry already, but wait there's more..

Dry as up here in the 'wet tropics' as well. All my regulars are on "until we get rain". Have been going OK till now with gardening, but as of next week, it's not looking too flash at all !!!!!!! Have a few small jobs to do that will take 2 days and that's it. But, every time I think I'm going to have a quiet week something always comes in. Have an $1800 mulch quote (stage 3 of an ongoing job) out there that could be a goer, so we'll see what happens.

Yep dry as in Canberra as well. Green tinge about the place but the soil is bone dry. Not looking great.

We've actually had a decent amount of rain here over the last month or so. The problem is we haven't had consistent high minimum temperatures. We might get one night of 15° followed by 5 nights of 7-12°. Days have been in the mid to high 20s but not much over 30. Forecast is a bit better for the next week or so. Few showers with temp ranges from 15-33°.

The couch grass in Bayside has dried up already and it's not even summer.

I've actually forgotten the last year we had good rain here, its bizarre, its supposed to be subtropical, there's plenty of rainforest around here

If we dont get a storm tonight, this week will probably be a right off! Maybe one or 2. Stinking hot today (as you probably know) thats not going to help us one bit!

I had 2 lines of electrical storms go over last night but not a drop of rain.

    Things are pretty crook here.

A fairly severe and fast moving electrical storm went through Melbourne causing chaos.
We had couple of lightning strikes within 1-200 meters from what I saw/heard, but fortunately no visible damage.
I think BOM might have been caught 'on the hop' as there was no severe weather warning /storm alert published when it started here at about 2.30am.
Dumped about 35mm of rain here.
