Sweet glorious rain, a good fall in Bayside Melbourne, right through the night and into the morning.

It was loverly to listen to last night, until the young fella screamed out he was being dripped on in bed Unfortunately now the wind is here, sucking the moisture back out of the ground before it gets to soak in.

We got about 12mm down this way, I think it was upwards of 35mm above Frankston.

How's the soil down your way Brett, not only is the wind drying things back up today but the sandy soil here just doesn't hold any of it. Does it hold better down your way?

Two days of 40 plus will just about kill anything that was left around here.

Mornington through to Dromana is drying rapidly, with finger wide cracks already showing in some areas. Hastings doesn't seem as bad, but I've only got 1 or 2 jobs over there

very high 30's to early 40's from Thursday to Sunday this week with no rain predicted at all - good time to look for another profession if mowing lawns is how you make your living I think - how hard is it to mow a lawn of dead grass and dust and then tell the customer you will see them in a couple of weeks, feels like taking money under false pretences..
