Hi Garry, Can't see numbers on the belt, but the Ferris OEM number is 5103870. It has 5 Kevlar cords apparently. I did look at an aftermarket kevlar belt for it a while ago, but they wanted the same money for it here. Be interested to see what you can find. Thanks very much
I use AMCParts Store in the USA for the past 4 years and there service is excellent with delivery to my door in 5-6 days max. Once I had it in 4 days.
For my 42" Husky double sided V belt, it's $115 locally and from the mentioned store for $34 + $18 postage, I usually get 2 belts at a time to halve postage. But the AU conversion dollar was riding higher last time I purchased and I had that in mind when I posted above.
When the dollar rises a bit more, I will be ordering another two as I've only one spare.
Did searches for your belt on their site and it doesn't show up. - bugger.
The generic pix brand Kelvar equivalent which in my case performs and lasts longer than a crap husky belt, Ferris 510 3870 = Pix part No - Pix b170k.
It might be worth the while to e-mail them with the ferris number and see if they can get a couple or so in. As the above mentioned store is brilliant for rapid service and low price. Even with the lower aussie dollar if you order say two belts, it may be the same price as one belt locally.
Originally I found them on e-bay, but now just use their site.

Edit; somehow this post must be linked to the weather.???
Cheers Garry
Back on topic... Glorious day today on the Bunya Mountains.
Now back to the serious stuff.... Thanks for that Garry. I'll chase them up in the new year.
Not a good day for the ppl of the Adelaide Hills today. CFS are saying these fires could be on par with Ash Wed if the winds pick up as predicted. They are burning towards some populated areas. Stnking hot with hot dry northerly winds. I can see the smoke of the fires from my place but we are well out of its path. Evacuation warning for quite a few areas. Was 45 here yesterday and will be over 40 again today. Supposed to be a cool change coming but that will bring thunderstorms and lightning they reckon. Fingers crossed on this one
Cheers
