The rain Melbourne has been getting (although nearly as much as what you guys further north have been getting) has been much welcomed. Perfect timing as far as helping to extend the growing season provided we still get to keep the warmth too!

Lots of rain today, that soaking constant rain. Can't really see anyone working out there today up in this region
It's snowing in my home town!starting to dry out a bit in Sydney with consistent height temps and zero rain for the last few weeks.ah well it's been a hectic summer, can't complain,at least now might get a chance to catch up on some of those gardening and Tree loping jobs I've been putting off since Xmas...
Same here Jim. I'm looking forward to the mowing slowing down a bit after a busy season.
Still have a heap of shrub trimming jobs to catch up on, that are long overdue.
Also have to get a heap of firewood delivered before Easter.
dry as a dead dingos donga around here
yep plenty of dry dongas here too in south east burbs of sunny Melbourne...they are looking at water restrictions and turning on the d sal plant..ohh thats right is broken down and needs maintenance even though it never been used...good one Dan Dan the plastic man premier of victoria..
Bloody ridiculous down here, never seen it so dry. Can't wait for the Autumn rains(if they arrive) But it's not all bad, as it allows me to head off to the Murray for a week, next Tuesday

Seems soooooooo long ago
As Geoff says it will weed out the cowboys BUT for those that have not experienced a drought or extended dry period start thinking of how to drought proof your business NOW!!!! It may be around the corner, 1,2 or a few years away so best be prepared. Sooner is better than later
which multinational got that juicy contract? Our population just ticked over the 24million mark. When I was kid it was around 14-16million. Our rivers haven't got any bigger or healthier, our farming land hasn't got any better and most of the good farming land is being built on. The great artesian basin is being sucked dry and a large chunk of farming land is lost to salinity. Goodness knows what damage the mining companies are doing to our water supply thru fracking. So when is the last time you heard any politician or political party discuss our overpopulating? This is a fragile land, the driest continent on earth.

overall total population increase of one person every 1 minute and 31 seconds. The equation is very simple, the more people we have, the less there is to go round.
