Can't pick this weather we had 480 mil of rain in January, not a drop since. Hit 40 this arvo at about 2 o'clock, dry as the Simpson and nothing but dust. Bloody cruel land to make a living from....

Desperately dry now. Would hate to be a farmer right now. Has the look of a drought about it. I hope im wrong.

Heard on the radio today that we have had 5mm of rain so far for April and average is 40mm. Hotter than normal days was 29 today.

I hate mowing at the moment and try and avoid it, it creates a cloud of dust that can cover a house, the road and the neighbours. I have always thought if you can't leave a place looking better than when you got there don't do the job but surprisingly customers still leave there washing out on the line in conditions like this. I suppose that is why I am mowing their lawn and not them.

This year had almost perfect growing/mowing conditions spring, summer and autumn., but do remember one particular job last year, sandy dryarea, client coming home from shops knew I was there as they could see clouds of dust over their roof! Had washing on the line too!

Good drop of rain in Melbourne today. Still quite warm too. Great for the local gardens with our sandy soil.

1" since midnight so far, forecast for the next week - no good for the bank balance but will finally settle the dust and wet the dry, dry, parched earth
