To a gardener there is nothing more exasperating

I used to find that exasperating even before I was a gardener

Getting bloody hot up this way. In our build up period now for the wet season. Every night lightning off in the distance and each day they've been predicting thunder storms but no cigar yet. The air is so thick in the mornings and I'm dripping in sweat by 7am.
    Wish it'd p*ss down!!!

    RAIN...RAIN...RAIN.

Been raining all night. Good steady soaking rain. Filled my water tanks and you can hear the grass growing. Looks like a maintenance day for me today.

Raining in Sydney as well. Supposed to get heavier as the day goes on too. Looks like I will have a big day tomorrow trying to catch up.

Because of the rain today I didn't do any mowing or gardening. Did some catch up on paperwork, some maintenance and did a quote run in the arvo.

On my way to a quote I noticed a Jim's trailer pulled up outside a house. It was bucketing down and there he was in raincoat, gumboots and earmuffs mowing the lawn. How hungry can you be.

I need the work but not so bad to work in weather like that. Do many others mow in the rain. Surely can't be good for the equipment and you as well as the lawn

    Hi Bluey

Well if you pride yourself in doing a good job and like to do a professional mow that looks good then mowing in the rain is a no-go

Short term money...long term bad reputation
To be wronged is nothing unless you continue to remember it.

    Hi Bluey,

It may not be greed It could just be the run to Christmas

I know I cant afford to lose a day between now and Christmas eve its not a money thing all my regulars want a nice yard for Christmas day they look after me all year and I want to look after them,

But your right working in does not leave as good of a finish and I always end up with a cold

I just checked the 28 day rainfall forecast for Brisbane it shows a chance of rain every day from the 16th of December through to Christmas day so i might be like blueys jims buddy slugging it out in the rain

Hopefully they are afternoon storms like they have been lately so we can get some work done
