yes but unfortunately some genuine guys and gals have gone under already they thought along with me that this would be a bumper year following rain in brizzy earlier this year.
I have also noticed very few franchise trailers around lately really only one sparkling new Jims trailer.
We all need this rain in combination with current economic climate I think people phsychologically are about to give up sell homes etc

i notice a new jims guy going to his parents place down my street a bit. a brand new trailer. probably giving himself a triple uppercut at the moment for buying it. i saw a run down jims going along gympie rd, tail lights busted, paint peeling, dents on guards & panels. the worse one i've seen by a long shot.Originally Posted by gjs

Seen a dodgy Jims trailer out here too (always empty though), and I think every time I venture in to Brissie I see a new Grahams Garden Care trailer, they might be getting a bigger chunk of the market.Originally Posted by redbackmowing

I got talking to a newby Jims guy the other day at the tip. He was absolutely gutted with the unhelpfulness and crap support of his franchisor.
Now I've had my dramas with Jims over the years(management, not the workers) and I found it sadly ironic that this guy was basically looking for some encouragement from me that things will turn around. He was a good bloke just having a go and sweating on rain like the rest of us north of the border, but who, like many others before him have been duped and let down by the bearded one.
Well we have had it all the last couple of days. Had 5 days straight over 30 with yester day at 38 and today at 40. At lunch time we were sweating like crazy then the cold change came in late afternoon and the temp dropped by 18 degrees and now it's cold. Go figure

I was speaking to a guy in Coffs Harbour about a month ago hes in a franchise said he hadnt been able to cut grass for three months at one stage he approached his master franchisor to see if they would drop the fees for awhile so he could get back on his feet ,they said no .
This last deluge has me thinking of him and his familiy at this time and of course all the other Aussies doing it tough in this area .
If you read this let me know how your getting on .

A natural disaster was declared for the Bellingen, Nambucca and Coffs Harbour areas after floods hit early Saturday morning.
In six hours on Friday night more than 500 millimetres of rain fell in the catchment of Coffs Creek which runs through Coffs Harbour.
River levels have since gone down and floodwaters are receding in the areas of Coffs Harbour, Nambucca, Bellingen and Kempsey shires.
The trail of destruction that is already clear includes damage to 18 roads, the approaches to 12 bridges and sewage overflows that have closed some beaches.
Hardest hit has been Coffs Harbour. For the second time since March, businesses in the town's main street have been inundated.
Clean-up operations have begun but are being hampered by continued rain.
The Weather Bureau says the system that brought the torrential rain is weakening, but that it is still producing showers along the coast between Ballina and Sydney.
The bureau still has flood warnings in place for the Orara and Paroo rivers, but say both have already peaked.
- For more information on the one-off payment, people can either visit their local Centrelink office or ring the flood hotline on 180 2333.

Yep, it was fun while it lasted and brought back some memories.......
