i agree and guy's be very careful when you can get out and mow again
and grassman just to put the size of the floods into prospective for you i think the area affected in Queensland is about 5 times the size of Kansas

I heard it was the size of Germany and France combined! Anyone else hear that?
Seems Tazzy, parts of SA and Vic may be experiencing heavy rains, flash flooding etc. Hope you lot get through it ok!

I do have a question though and maybe someone may be able to answer. Has the Murray River caught any of this? The Murray River. We all know its starved of water, has it had a flush or anything? Many acres of Red Gums need a good flood evry once in a while and hasnt happened for years!

Sometimes I wish rain was dropped on some sort of roster and shared with those who need it most. I'd gladly give yesterdays and todays rain to somewhere else! Yesterday I did one hedge and half finished one lawsn then sat in my car for a couple of hours waiting for it to clear... which it didn't. Today I'm sitting in my car waiting again... lap top won't last all day so I'll only be able to do so much paperwork and it totally sucks that at the moment I have to pay daycare as well as holiday care for my kids before I even make any money for anything else.

But that being said, at least I'm sitting here and not getting washed away, at least I have a dry house to go to at the end of the day and food in the pantry. And at least I know all my family are dry and safe. Screw this weather but screw what has happened to many of our fellow country men and women more!

Take care everyone, the sun will be out soon and the grass will continue to grow and the phone will ring and today's loss will be re-cooped.

It's just natures way of reminding us we are but small insignificant creatures.

The Murray levels are right up there now. Some residents are on flood watch and there is a heap more to come. Best water in the river for years. That,s one good thing to come out of these floods anyway

Yep and I often say that human beings on planet earth are like insects in a veggie patch where the owner has gone away for a week. We have not been around all that long in the veggie patch but in the short time we have we have managed to fairly well decimate it from what it used to be. When the owner gets back and sees the damage we have done he is going nuke us for sure.

The miss's went to the supermarket today, twice! 2nd time.... NO Bread, Milk or eggs!
Shelves are being stripped! Dont know if its panic buying or lack of supply but she said it was surreal! Empty shelves!

With the threat of a cyclone next week even Im thinking we should stock up on non perishables like tinned food, rice, pasta etc. If we do get a cyclone, the Gold Coast will be in big trouble. The ground is beyond soaked so run off would be insane and King tides again next week. Crazy times indeed!

Actually did 3 lawns today! They were all too wet to mow but just had to bite the bullet and get *something* done. That said, some are just untouchable at the minute and still the occasional shower coming over as I write this!
Got a call from a "regular" that I haven't touched since before xmas. They tried to mow it with a Kubota 4wd tractor and got it bogged 3 times!

I went into the supermarket this arvo, not one bit of friuit or veg,no bread and the meat section was pretty bare. It's a combination of blocked roads, most of the flooded areas were the fruit and veg producers of Qld,Rocklea markets are under water and demand.I think we better get used to it for a while

Thats what I figure (fruit market etc) but I would of though Cole and Wollies could get stock from down south. But yeah, its a big hit loosing that Rocklea market thats for sure!
