Reminds me of a story about this dude who has a dual wheeled (side by side), I dunno, toyota small truck cab over sort of thing.
Anyway, he would keep the inner tires less inflated than the outers thinking he would get less wear, so save a buck!
Little did he realise the extra weight on the outers causing more wear and in the end, failure! (BANG!)
What an idiot. Cost him heaps in the end, and nearly his life!
This same guy used a spa filter on his swimming pool (to save a buck) but was forever spending money on chemicals to keep the pool right.
Another. He spent an entire day trying to get a spindle repaired going from engineers to engineers etc. In the end he saved an incredible $5 (instead of replacement) but didnt work an hour that day, plus the fuel he used and no on site work being done. So ended up costing him $100's.
"Penny wise, dollar foolish" comes to mind!

Showers forecast everyday here for the next week, I cant remember the last time I saw a picture of a sun in the BOM forecast for Sydney.
Got quite humid today from around lunchtime, I was absolutely soaked doing a big garden cleanup. Worked till 6.30pm and went through nearly 7 litres of fluid, I took turns between Gatorade, cordial and water.
31 degrees for tommorow and another big day with plenty of fluid.
More rain again today, as well as Friday last week, so that will affect the work schedule...I just hope the old codger we spoke with last week was wrong when he said he predicted another big blow here on Thursday this week (He reckons he predicted TC Yasi, so we'll see how right his predictions are).
The ground here is super-saturated in many places...very hard to mow and I have already got the ride-on bogged once recently...
