What a shocker of a week with rain and non stop drizzle.
The only days of work was Monday from 10.00am and Thursday Arvo was possible, although I didn't go out in the arvo. This rain started the Friday of the previous week too.
I had the whole week booked out including this weekend.
Today it was supposed to fine up and I had some gold clients to service, but nah non stop drizzle.
I have a mansion property tomorrow but with the drizzle it will make it very slippery tomorrow with the earth embankment cut garden/lawned areas.
Sunday is two commercial clients to do.
Well the forecast is for rising temp's and fining up, so one can only hope.

It makes you feel like your bludging sitting at home and I even drove down the road to see if another operater was working. His rig was parked at home, so that me feel better knowing he too thought it was too wet and I wasn't a softy.
So I have done maintenance on equipment and trailer. Whilst mucking around with the Hilux re oil/water top ups and cleaning out the cabin. Even charged the rideon and car batteries to fill in time.
Hilux and trailer sit under coverage in a garage so its good to tinker around with the gear.
Also took the opportunity to re schedule and contact all clients leading into the next two weeks and think about the ones that drop you out totally in winter with the, "we will call you". Even though their properties are going down hill with winter weeds and non clean up off autumn debris. It won't be a normal fee to fix them up whenever they call again. But if the work load gets too intense next spring, we all know which clients we resign from.

But I still hate this sit at home bludging feeling you get. Glad my wife wife works partime, at least she will bring home a income this week better mine.
    Cheers Garry

Yep the weather can really knock you around at this time of the year. that is why I like having a few other irons in the fire. I managed to work everyday this week one way or another so that is good in winter. Today was a pearler of a day and I caught up with a few gardens and lawns.

Blowing a frigging Gail here today and getting colder . We are expecting over half a meter of snow in the hills this week so will be a dash and mow days ahead . Dont know about you guys but I hate pruning in the wind and will delay where ever I can . Seem to spend twice as long chasing the prunings down the driveway .
I do like this time of the year because brings slow growth and mowing is a soda taking a 1/4 I'd the time for the same money . Lucky most if my customers are two weekly fir the entire year or three in some cases .
After the hammering we got last summer it's nice to sit by the fire in the early afternoon for us old buggers lol.

Complete contrast here today Geoff. Best day we've had for weeks! Warm 17ish degrees, no wind, blue skies. I've heard the cold will be back by the weekend though!

Got 2 in this morning. Found yesterday and this morning that its bloody difficult to get a straight edge when the wind keeps getting hold of the whippy guard.
Thermometer in the backyard shows 8 deg at the moment. Fired up the Webber in the garage a few hours ago to get some warmth in there while I pottered about. Pork goes on in an hour.
Snow down to 500m on Thursday apparently.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I'd just stopped the mower this morning and wondered why it was still vibrating. It was the earth tremor.

I pulled the plug on this arvo's job. An afternoon in the shed fitting new blades and greasing up the whippys got done instead.

Is that because of the floods courty?

I noticed some of the property prices had come back to a more reasonable level might be a good time to move.

Any tips for a good place to live on the Sunshine Coast?

Very much a 2-speed economy up here mate,if your in mining it's all rosie,if your not then it's a bit of a struggle at the moment especially in the tourist towns like the Goldy & Sunny Coasts.

Well now, I have been off sick since Sunday. Was thinking of trying for Wednesday but the virus I have just wont go. A little more rest and better weather may just see me working all weekend and into next week. Sounds like you guys are having a great time out there!!
