I've felt the same on a couple of occassions so I have driven past a name operator's home (no beard on this chap) who is close to home to find out if he was home on the 3 days too. I felt much better when I saw that he was home on all days.

But yesterday it rained for most of the day and I had promised a lady (regular) in a townhouse who was getting a housing inspection today that I would tidy and mow even if I had to do it in the rain. It was the only job I did that day.
Well those wide brimmed hats help keep the rain of ones head l can tell you. But its real hard to do 180deg turns with your mower in the wet leave whilst maintaining a nice finish.
As I left this townhouse which was close to home it started raining more solid and I saw a Bearded Man working a job in the thick of it.
Glad I didn't take up the Jims offer when I was researching this venture out and I even got to speak to there district supervisor/ one of their local operators and a friend Jimbo operator. More freedom as an Indy if one wants to work in the misty/light/heavy rain or not - me thinks.

I will finish a job in the rain but I won't start one....heavy rain that is....I don't mind the odd light shower

I will finish job in rain to, but after that I will head for home if the rain is heavy. My mower will mow wet grass but the job is not the same. I have been know to mow in rain but only if I am a long way from home and don't want to come back, then I will mow.

Still no grass growth here yet.
Daytime temps are getting to low 20's, but overnight still 0 to 2 deg.
I've got an acreage to do tomorrow that hasn't been mowed for over 3 months, and I will be able to do it full speed with the mulch plates in.
Most of my regulars are at 11 weeks since my last mow and probably another 3-4 weeks until they need mowing.

It's crazy dry in brizzy at the moment since the floods according to today's paper it's been over 7 months since any significant rainfall even my best customers are now on 6 weeks or more, many saying it's the driest they have seen there lawns in 25 years or more!

We have had some cold nights here, but with some nice rain in the last few weeks and more to come this week, the grass is starting to grow a bit more. I am now to monthly mows and I would expect to be back on fortnightly mows by end of September.

I don't know if we'll get a Summer like the last one. Been speaking with a few old-timers around these parts and they reckon we're in for another El Nino pattern. Could be right jusdging by how dry it's been here for the last 5 to 7 months.

I hope they're wrong as I'm looking forward to a good season!

You guys in the eastern states have a fair bit of rain on the way. It's been raining here all week. Trying to clear up now but some good storms in between. Ground is sodden. Tried to do a little catch up this morning but gave up. I spent Mon and Tues in Port Lincoln doing a display install so didn't miss out on anything. Drove home last night. Went through some massive storms and wind gusts. But Port Lincoln is a nice place. Never ventured that far over before. Quite like it. Pity I didn't have time to wet a line.

My fav place in Oz Bluey,we go there every year and have been for the past 20. Best Calamari and KG fishing full stop. The size of the squid is almost scary and have caught and seen massive KG whiting caught, bloody things are horses!! Mate calls em kidney slappers (cause when ur holdin them to take the hook out the tail is rapped around slappin ur kidneys.....lol) The surf beaches there hold huge Salmon and are awesome fun, big Mulloway too.
Have become great mates with some of the locals and start everyday with a fuzzy head (Bloody bourbon)
Its where eventually we'll be retiring to in 20yrs or so.

Been raining here since 2am and has not really let up. Same idea Geoff, had a nice counter lunch with the other half today and might have another one tomorrow by the forecast. Farmers are loving it now, town was bedlam, had to do circuits to find a parking place in main street. Shop keepers would have had a good day today. Not me tho, no work no pay LOL.

I can see why Lockie. I was thinking it would be like Whyalla or Pt Augusta but I was pleasantly surprised. I reckon we will go over there for some R and R soon. We stayed the night right down on the water at the Pier Hotel. Not that I saw much. The weekend in the Gold coast and the drive over had me in bed early
