Its either buy something like this cub cadet or replace my Dixon 9 HP engine with a 16 HP engine. but how hard that is i dont know. Allot of people say you can just bolt i a new one on. The engine is mounted by 4 bolts on the back of the Dixon.

it should be relatively easy - i've swapped engines on my ride-ons a few times (the only hassle is, sometimes, matching up the electrical leads)
    is this your mower? http://www.dixon-ztr.com/products/ze...s/speedztr-30/

I've got a 12.5hp intek here, can measure its dimensions if you like, to see if it would fit, and possibly sell it? its done about 100-200 hrs.....looks like the width would be the critical one by the photo

    Hi imoww
I have a Cub Cadet RZT 17. I really like mine. It developed a bad habit of throwing the belt off. A one inch smaller belt fixed that problem. Had trouble with the brake but my mechanic moded that so it works great now. I have the swing back conversion on mine. What else would you like to know?
    Cheers

    Hi Hjl/
Thanks for that. Now i can look at those issues. Doesnt sound like major issues. I had the same problems with other ride ons in the past.
I was asking about the common issues the guys mentioned off the reviews.
I couldnt find any faults with this model Cub cadet.
Whats it like getting through gates?

    Hi imoww
I only use mine on big blocks with wide gates, so no problem for me. You have a 42 inch deck plus the side chute so you need about a 5 foot gate to fit thru easily. That one on gumtree make sure you check the deck as mine is yellow ie same colour as rest of mower. The one you linked is grey so why is it grey? Maybe they welded something and painted the whole lot grey, that would explain that.

    Hi imoww
The mower is 6 feet long and if you tie the side chute up hard it is 4 feet wide. So would be a neat fit on your 7x4 trailer. I have a 8x5 tilt trailer(best thing I have bought) and the mower goes on easy with the cute down.

Cant believe this... The trailer is 4 feet wide but the inside is a few CM short of 4 feet. Damn it..
Looks like no go for the Cub Cadet
Many thanks guys for your info.

I've got a 42" walker with the multi deck. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good quality mower.
