    Default Ride On back up

My ride on is broke down. Having a rain day off so thinking. I need a back up for my ride on. I used a mate's greenfield self propelled slasher a while ago. Very impressed with the amount it could cut.
So do I get a second hand one of these (my budget won't go to buying new).
Or I have a rover rancher (old) frame that I could get a new motor fitted to and use that. I think the rover is a 30 inch cut and has 3 forward gears and reverse.
The greenfield is single speed no reverse and 28 inch cut.
I also have a 30 inch snapper frame that could be remotored.
The greenfield did cut 2 foot 6 inch high Kikuyu paspalum etc and did not stall.
I don't think the rover or the snapper could do that.
The greenfield is sort of like the walk behind mowers the yanks talk about.
    Thoughts suggestions.

    Cheers

Never seen a victa like that, its like a typical american walk behind, that motor is interesting, a JLO & it might be a 2 stroke too, must be pretty old

I have actually seen a dead one of these all rusted up no motor etc at a property years ago. Looked like it had been left in long grass and forgotten about. Such a shame.

Been thinking about getting a Deutscher Self Propelled Slasher to do the ferals, been getting a few up this way due to the rain.

I forget how many screws, similar to matts prob las yr.

2 Plates on the wrist and busted bicep, plus the shoulder cock up, tripped over something that shouldn't have been there. (yes its a common law claim)

Others have more to worry about than me, kids, work, mortage, rent, sickness, and lowballers!!

One of my lawnie mates said to remotor the rover. Reason you ride on it and the greenfield you "still have to walk behind the bloodly thing".
Should I remotor the snapper or the rover? Both are 30 inch cut I believe.
Are rover's easier to get parts for(both are old).
The snapper is unknown on how good the gearbox is.
The rover's gearbox is supposed to be good according to the bloke I got it from (aren't they always).

Have you thought about how much money and time you are going to invest on this backup machine that you may use a couple of times. Sometimes it's less lost money to have the mechanics fix your main machine and delay those rideon jobs for a week and fill that time in with garden work. Not to mention it's another machine to service that increases your expenses with little return.
