Battery power is staring to get interesting I reckon, while I've got a full kit of petrol powered kit, I think the battery kit would be great to target motels, hotels, resorts etc where they don't want undue noise around affecting the clients.
Can anyone with battery powered blowers or trimmers report on what they are like vibration wise?
Vibration being my main worry with petrol gear, more of a problem than noise I reckon.

The husky battery whippy, hedgers x 2 and blower have bugger all in comparison to my petrol. Looking at a Stihl battery whippy because I need a battery one with more grunt. I use them because of the lack of vibration in comparison to petrol.

Weight wise it's very light (5 kg), almost toy like it's so light. An EB803 is well over double the weight before you add fuel (11.4 kg).

I use the 4 ah 82V battery which is 2.5kg bringing the total weight to 7.5kg. An EB803 fully fueled up would be 13.4 kg so the difference is about 6 kg (equivalent to 2 full x 3L milk containers).

Performance wise, as I said earlier in the thread the 82V 1000W backpack blower blows at 580 CFM and 234 km/h but the difference in actual operation feels even more. If they measured blowing force (Newton Metres) which some tool review shootouts do, I think the improvement would be most noticed there.

The known specs are better than the latest model Stihl petrol powered handheld units (BG 56 & BG86) as well as the base model petrol powered Stihl backpack blower (BR 200). It also rivals the next petrol powered Stihl backpack model up (BR450) in that it has a higher air speed but lower CFM but it's not going to match a EB803 which has a CFM of 690 and higher airflow speed. Having said that, I used to have an old BR600 and by the time I got that heavy monster out and some earmuffs, adjusted the choke pulled the cord a few times, then lugged it on my back, I can now have almost finished blowing everything down with the 82V.

Good stuff - things in the Lithium OPE area are certainly shaking up recently. Crazy to think that now even a consumer product is beating handheld blowers from an established brand like Stihl.

near as I can tell the differences are approximately
    Victa 82v with 4ah battery 7.5 kg
    Shindaiwa eb803 11.3 kg
    Victa 580cfm
    Shindy 695cfm
    Victa 234kph
    Shindy 339kph
    Run time
Victa 4ah battery according to website was i think 15minutes
Shindy not sure but I think at least 40 minutes on a tank
so Shindy weighs about 50% more but has about 20% more air volume and about 45% more velocity
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Dry weight without fuel) of EB803 is 11.4kg. Fully fueled it's 13.4 kg (2L of fuel weighs 2kg).

You runtime for the blower with the 4ah battery is wrong. that battery powers a 1200W mower for 30-45 minutes. The blower is 1000W. I've used the blower and battery for a week now and at the end of each day after starting with a full charge there is still usually half a charge left.

BTW the EB803 was tested in the real world in the following test and only produced 586 CFM. It's called EB802 in the US but is the same machine.
