Default Some friendly advice for new pressure washer

Hi Guys, well winter is slowly coming and the lawns will be soon slowing down, i have alot of gardening to do and lots of clean ups, But im looking to get into pressure washing a few good strata jobs have asked me in the past if i cater for this and have always knocked it back simply because i really wasn't financial enough to buy one,
and im the kinda guy if i buy something it has to be pretty much the best, nothing worse than going to a job with half arse gear spending way to much time do average work...
if im going to do it i want the best i can offored and something that will be quick and leave fantastic results and leave my customers ringing me up in the future,
so i went to the local Specialist and he showed me lots of machines and im thinking to settle for this
    http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/strat...21l/1093210411
Now im not paying this, i was quoted $6500 with Turbo lance, surface claaner 20", and tele wand also comes with the standard gun
The work im thinking of getting into
    concrete surface cleaning
    brick fences, wooden fences
    house washing
and whatever else i can get
Im looking at using environmentally friendly cleaners to aid in the cleaning...
Just wondering if you have any tips/hints or maybe even some experience you would like to share
    cheers

my friendly advice would be to buy something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Jet-USA-4...cAAOSwAuNW4QbB saving over $6000 and see if its a viable business option. If you're getting enough work after 12-18 months, consider upgrading (it might keep on keeping on...)

edit - the clients won't know a $600 machine from a $6000 one, they just want a clean drive-way - I've been using a ebay 3800psi machine for many years, hasn't hiccuphed yet....

Just with curiosity does the ebay Chinese machine have a run time limit for any given session, some only have 45 mins before switching off.I did ask about that with the Edison supplier and they didn't know about the product they sold.
What about yours any time limit involved ?

The only reason i ask been looking into these for the last week and keen on a spitwater brand but not sure if i'd get the work forking out on more expensive quality brand so looking into Chinese stuff

I find after 60-90 minutes, I need a break so turn off for a short rest - holding onto the gun at near 4000psi is hard on the hand, wrist etc..... but no, it's never cut out

    Thanks Red for your reply
im really not a fan on buying stuff like this on Evilbay simply because there is always a problem with a product, no warranty and all the crap, also buying spare parts something is going to break, where do i get it fixed.?
and its only 10L a minute,

nothing worse than forking out 600 bucks going to a job and being insuffieciant, i would rather have over kill

Having a look at that machine, it's basically identical to mine except mines only 16hp, doesn't have the nanny tank or the drain cleaning **** as I didn't need it. Same flow rate, pressure, pump etc though. More than enough power to do anything you'd ask of it though mate.stripped graffiti etc with mine.

Hi mate Yep i was looking at the scud 400 really liked it, but the other one is more user friendly i think it has more warnings etc, wont burn out the pump because it has motor cut off if someone turns the tap off
    hopper tank for water
    Low oil cut off
it has 21lpm the scud is only 15lpm
being a twin have lots more talk and should last longer
im not getting the drain cleaning stuff, im swapping it for extra bits i will need
i went and saw charlie, he is very good to talk to and is helping with the package because i wont use half of the plumbing stuff so he is swapping it with stuff i will use...
Charlie emailed me the specs on the scud and the other one if your interested
so the way i see it its basically a scud 400 but with an extra bit of zip

ABBSCULT/GX630G is the replacement model of mine. Mines an older outdated model now still with a single piston motor though. Only thing I'd have liked for mine would have been the nanny tank, will fab one up myself eventually. You won't go wrong mate. Charlie knows his gear and is brilliant for back up.

Possibly someone can explain why we have high PSI advertisement numbers but it delivers less
    One brand says
Advertised as 4600 PSI High Pressure Cleaner and in the specs it says Continuous Pressure:3000PSI

    Another brand says
Advertised as 3200PSI WATER CLEANER specs says Continuous Pressure:3000PSI
In reality they both only deliver 3000PSI,are they just playing with numbers with the same end result

Most will claim the blast pressure. Pressure the instant the lance is first opened, not the constant pressure. Good sign of cheap junk usually. Same way electric karchers etc claim to be 2700psi for example, 2700psi at the pump before the lance is opened. Constant pressure on the other hand would be lucky to peak at 2000.
