    sthil are playing funny buggers.

The AP180 batteries are on the US website but not the OZ website.

In OZ they appear to have been replaced with the AP200.

The AP180 has 178Wh energy capacity meanwhile the AP200 has only 151Wh energy capacity.

Why would they do this? My AP180 which I am very happy with is made in germany, I'll sneak a peek at these AP200's when I'm near a SThil shop next time and do a comparison.

Thanks Geoff. I paid $249 for my AP180 over a year ago. The AP200 retails at $199 according to the Sthil website.

Steve you want the ap 300. I went with the stihl stuff after Freds recommendation. I was waiting for the husky long reach to come out , but they still can not tell when it will be here. I wonder how many sales they have lost because they are dragging their feet.

Yeah I was going to get an AP300 if it improves the balance on the HLA65, however the AP180 is a great battery, has never let me down.

I just wanted to make the point that the replacement AP200 is not the same thing as the AP180 and could be rubbish as far as we know. The AP300 definetly the safest bet at the moment.

Sthil are selling the extendable pole hedger in the US by the looks of it.

Go for the AP300 Geoff. Battery only is $269.00, then you need a charger, I just got the cheapest charger, suits me but everyones different.

I did this one yesterday there is some out the back too, and only lost one bar on the battery. Went to another job and did nearly this much again and only lost one more bar. I thought it may drop quicker than that. I would of refuelled my petrol machine 3 times to do that much work.

Nice job mate. If that's what these things can do it may even get me into them.

hedging is an art ,some contractors are good at it some are crap...attention to detail is vital and with good equipment the job can become a pleasure to do...using battery power is something i am really looking forward to as i have ( not as much as Fred of course ) a lot of fine hedging to do... customers love it and if you are good at it they will reward you well..if they don't let the amateurs take over lol A big thanks to Fred for putting me on to the era....
