Another new Perth member

Tried registering on the forum 6 months ago and got the old 'Administrator has disabled registration' message. Didn't realise at the time that you had to pay and join ILCOA first. Tried again a few days ago and this time tracked down a phone number for Dean when it wouldn't let me register. Now a paid up member and can finally see all those photos in posts I couldn't see before.

I wonder how many people out there are stuck in the same continuous loop. Surely it can't be just dumbass me.

I drove over the Nullabor in 1974, just 20 yo and finished my trade as a fitter/turner, man I really had some great times in WA. 42 yrs ago seems like yesterday, Raffles Pub for the Sunday session, just reminiscing ........ Welcome to the site

Was in WA in 1978, 20 year old (finished my trade as a mechanic) and road to Perth with a couple of mates and Sunday session for anyone with a bike was always the Scarbie beach hotel then Bondie got hold of it, tore it down and built a block of units or something (absolute travesty). Had some great times in Perth and it don't seem like 38 years ago...

Built the Rendezvous Hotel. Loved by some hated by many.

But do get the ferry back if you've made a spur of the moment decision whilst fishing from your kayak to paddle there. Seemed like such a good idea with a nice morning easterly behind my back. The wind turned towards the end though and by the time I got there I looked like a cooked crayfish (badly sunburnt). Had to call my girlfriend to buy me a ticket back as I didn't have a wallet with me.
