Are you having belt issues with the Gravely Paul? Mine seem to last well. I change them at 500 hrs but they don't show any signs of breaking. Mines got a hex belt for the main deck belt & a cogged belt for the chute side spindle.
I think I've only replaced the hydro belt once, prob at about 1200 hrs.

And now that you have spares you'll never have to change one
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Its like having roadside assist for the car, if you have it you'll never need it or any insurance really.

Are these kevlar belts okay or do I need to look at a specific brand?

(It's for a ride on mower deck)

A lot of yanks use pix belts - make sure your belt size is right -we measure inside, usa measure outside, so check with manufacturer (l've bought wrong ones b4) l've been buying from https://au-vbeltguys.glopalstore.com..._US&utm_term=a

    Thanks, I didn't know that
I usually order A42 from asian sellers on eBay / Amazon so will have to double check but looks like they should be inner measurements too

Put a kelvlar belt on a cox 32" and the vibration was terrible had to take it of and put the cheap rubber back on, the belt was to stiff and caused the deck to shake aggressivly. The short time i had, it wore a grove in the the aluminimun pully and had to replce that $$$. never had a issue with kevlar belts on a 3 disc ride on with steel pulleys they are a different setup. after all that I would never go to kelvlar again it cost me money. Rubber belts are fine, just have the tension on them, belt grip and listen to the machine if they start slipping your breaking it.

    Thanks, good to know.
I usually go the cheap rubber ones too but I've had 4 seperate orders coming from asia that have all been delayed and refunded due to virus etc. I don't know if I'll actually still get them or not but thought I'd try a kevlar to save hassle. They're for the grandstand with 3 blades and steel pulleys so hopefully they'll be alright

I always use the cheap belts cost 8 bux delivered but maybe that's why i burn through one every few months
