Default Lawn Clipping & Stormwater System

    Lawn Clipping & Stormwater System

    Bayside city council

Council from time to time recieve complaints from residents who notice lawn mowing operators (commercial & domestic) blowing the lawn clippings into stormwater pits.

This letter is to advise you that discharging any material into the stormwater system is an offence under the councils local laws and the Enviromental Protection Act.

I therefore requsest that you bring this to the attention of all your members working in the bayside municipal area .

remember that the nature strip is part of the road reserve so if you remove the grass you are actualy stealing from the council if you blow it on to the road you are just blowing it from one part of there property to another

I'll use a bin and broom in place of a blower when you use a bike not a Boeing to go to Sydney.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but in yesterdays herald sun someone wrote in complaing about contractors blowing grass clippings into gutters and blocking them causing floods and when are councils going to crack down on them and fine them.
