    Default Mulchmaster re-power

The donk was playing up & after stuffing around, I bought a new Briggs 850 for the mulchy

New engine & blade boss arrived ( one of the lugs snapped off the old boss )

The holes weren't threaded so had to cut new threads - didn't have the correct tap, so it has 9/16 bolts

    Fitted and ready for work

At the office......something l didn't realise was the shaft is longer so have lost about an inch of cutting height; not an issue as l only use 2 notches but a bit annoying all the same

Good one Paul. Good for another 5 years

You can get self tapping engine bolts to thread straight into them blank mounting holes. Too late now, you have it sorted.

Hey Red,trying to understand why you did that.
Did you order the wrong engine with the longer output shaft so you raised the engine to correct it ?.

Off Topic from the Mulchmaster Beast,

But I remember Canberra's Drive having Heaters to hang in the car.
Extract from this link, Starlight Drive-in

"It is unwise to remain stationary in winter in Canberra, where, soon after daylight leaves the sky, the temperature begins its slide, often to a long way below zero.

The operators of the Starlight drive-in on what was then Canberra's northern outskirts advertised proudly that theatre-goers needn't fear turning into a block of ice at their drive-in.

They'd installed dinky fan-driven heaters that sat attached to the posts that also held the tinny speakers you needed to hang on your wind-up window if you wanted to hear the movie's soundtrack.

You'd drive up to your chosen post, wind your window halfway down, sling the speaker and the heater and wind the window back up as far as it would go. This meant the speaker blasted into your ear, the heater's fan clanked loudly, hot air blew all over your head and, should you wish to leave the car for what used to be called a comfort break, there was a good chance you'd find yourself entangled in cables."

Back to the Greatest Mower to have on board one's trailer.
    Cheers Garry
