Next up is a tray for the pushies, got some 75x75 duragal angle. With some googling l decided to try notch and bending....and have a hydraulic press in the shed (and a 90y.o. boilermaker dad assisting)

    Nice pick up Paul.
Surprised you don't have a welder in amongst all of the gear you have. The old fella looks fit enough to still run a bead of weld.
When I had a platform similar to that, I didn't bother with a ramp. Mine was just the right height I could just wheelie the front wheels on & lift the rear. Curbs would mess my method up at times though.

only got a stick welder, but a couple of welder/boilermaker mates have offered to mig it up for me - biggest decision is the floor, gal mesh or expanded steel mesh. l'd prefer expanded but weight is the biggy for me (might put a horse float spring on it though anyway)

either way I like the idea for the floor, you wont get grass build up. Make a point where you can run a chain if you need to lock up the mower. And don't forget to put the ramp up. One of my ex offsiders left mine down one day, I didn't see it , drove off it hit a power pole and ripped the whole bloody thing off. Notice how I said ex

nearly done, need some checkerplate for the front - will have a 45deg downward bend to run the mower up, about 150mm.......no ramp mate, never had or wanted one, just a short length of rope to quickly tie it down

This was a earlier trailer i had, that red U bolt had 2 sets of holes for two different mower sizes. It was a quick release design, just lift the U shape rod and mower rolls out.Plus the white tin over front wheel to stop the front bouncing on rough roads.
I used that trailer for over 20 years and mower never got past the U bolt
Just throwing a design at you which may help with the outcome

Nice work redeye. Yeah ramps aren't necessary. I don't even have a tray, just two lengths of c channel held on by U-bolts and two tie downs and would do the same again.

l think we're done - added latches top and bottom, moved the spare wheel inside the trailer and fitted a ramp spring
