What other self propelled mower is there that has the wide rear chute besides Rover.
Looking at options finding a self propelled which is simpler to repair

Does Victa or masport have the wide chute for wet grass
I'm just looking at a simpler drive train like victa and honda has, less moving parts
Only want to use it for the occasional tall grass clean up with catcher and badly over priced to do it.
There used to be a SP called bushranger. It had a wide chute. I've been mostly using a Masport SP dedicated mulcher mower for the last 4yrs. It has a plastic gearbox similar to Toro, belt drive with wheel pawls similar to the rover. Haven't had a problem yet and apparently replacement cost for the gearbox is $70.
yeah l've got the bushranger with the wide chute, its my catcher mower but l wouldnt recommend it for heavy going work

Spoke to local dealer today which carries most brands but not all in stock,he says the bushranger comes out from the same factory as Superswift and not recommended for what i want it for.A new Masport for contractors being released in Sept $1200 with Kwaka donk 6HP 190cc.He has seen it and said it will do heavy work
As for buying mite keep the Rover and keep on slipping clutch to get through, only for a dozen jobs per year near spring time
Mate I think that masport might be out, I looked at one in a dealers a week or so ago, it had really wide tyres on it , the one I saw had a briggs donk , I didn't have a look at the chute as I have enough mowers.
I also noticed that victa had a couple of new ones out, but they were only 19 inch I think, they did look good. If victa done a 21 inch catch mower that was half as good as the 560 I would be on it.
....Nothing like a good whipper....
And blades are $5.50 each so that's $22 a set

Why do they keep making these machines so heavy? You leave track marks once you get a little rain. Crazy. Try dragging em up and down steps in fancy landscaped gardens. If someone comes up with a well built light weight machine they'll turn the market on its head. Even if you have to pay a little more who cares the lighter machines have so many benefits compared to these latest heavy monsters. Where did it all go wrong.
