    Default Cox engine help

The last few days the Briggs engine on the Cox ride on is blowing a cloud of smoke for a few seconds while under load. While it blows smoke it labours as if the choke was on. Then it goes back to normal. It has happened four or five times. No other issues other than this. What could cause this?

Massive cloud of white smoke run ruff, to much oil

Yes the oil needs to be spot on or slightly under full, even with the Oil level spot on they will puff abit if the motor is hot and your going up or down steep slopes.

Sounds right. No sign of the problem today although it wasn't a steep block.

I'd say it was this, having done the same thing with mine all those years ago.

It was that. Hasn't happened since. Lesson learnt.

Default briggs and stratton part numbers

I need to track down the part number of an ignition coil. I have the engine model number. I put that into the briigs website but it is asking for a part number.

I have had 3 coil failures in three months and it is costing me 4 or 5 days without a ride on every time it happens. The first one was the original. The next two where bought from the same store on evilbay. This time I'll try original. I stupidly threw the original away so I have no idea how to find the part number.

Any ideas as to what could be causing these failures? Interestingly as i was holding the wire testing for spark I recieved a fair old wack of current but I can't see any spark. Very frustrating.
