Default To mat or not to mat

    G'day all
I'm changing from my steel Ute tray to a new aliminium, alloy one, is it worthwhile putting a Ute mat to protect the tray or not just interested in people's experiences, plus anyone put in those undertray toolboxes, is it easy etc etc
    Cheers john

l've fitted undertray boxes to both my utes, b1tch of a job.....make sure you put plenty of silicone on the bolts / holes or you get water in when it rains.....oh, and make a template for drilling the holes so they match

Thanks redeye, that's what I thought, unfortunately. I've been trying to get a you tube video of installing them to no avail, if possible I'll try and find someone who supplies an fits, at a good price
    Cheers

A ute mat is a great investment, not so much for the protection of the tray but more to stop your equipment from sliding around and a good noise deadener, and as Redeye said, silicone is your friend to prevent moisture getting in, also place a rubber base inside, this was recommended on the instructions I got with mine.
