    Default Gst

Heard today that Amazon will no longer allow us to buy from there o.s sites due to the new GST legislation effective from the 1st of July so thought I would remind everyone that buys stuff from overseas that it may be best to order extra now as you may find a few of the companies will say not worth the effort and stop shipping to Australia
Then we will have no choice but to buy from companies in Australia and pay the 10%GST and the 50-100% "Australia tax" ( the mark up overseas companies and Australian wholesalers add to our import prices)
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

Good, GST should be 25 % on everything anyway, our political setup has made it to hard for any party to make the changes needed for long term benifits.

Register for free with Australia Post's Shop Mate service

They provide a delivery address you can use in various countries that won't supply to Australia (incl. digital services)
Then use a VPN to mask your location and make it appear you are in the country of the address you 'located' in and give the address provided by Shop Mate.

    See if that works :-)

    https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/our-...shipping-rates

GST: By law from 1 July 2018, Australia Post will be required to collect GST from customers and pay that GST to the Australian Tax Office, on items valued at $1,000 AUD or less, that customers ship into Australia using ShopMate.

From 1 July 2018, each time you check out a ShopMate parcel and declare the value of the goods, you will be asked to provide payment for your ShopMate shipping and the applicable GST all in the same transaction^.
The rate of GST is 10%.

    GST will be payable on:

    • The value of the item(s) you are shipping into Australia via ShopMate including any shipping fees or local taxes paid to the USA retailer, and
    • The value of the ShopMate shipping and service fee (including Extra Cover if applicable)
