    Default trailer reversing light

When reversing my 8x5 trailer at night up my driveway, its hard to see it and even harder to see how close to the garage door it is. I want to mount a light like this https://www.narva.com.au/products/72422 on the tail gate and wire it through pin 2 to the reversing lights on the ute. Will this work i.e. will there be enough current to power it?
BTW i have a sensor light on the garage but it doesn't trigger until l'm almost running into the door......and it has no adjustment switches
    Anyone done this or similar?

I have a Yellow Roatating Beacon light with a Magnetic Base on the roof of the ute, its great for backing in at night it alearts everyone on the road and lights up 360 degrees around the vehicle a big area. a reversing light wont light 360 degrees.

I use it for comercial sites, and on busy roads, cars do give you more space and change lanes early on duel lanes. defeniately alot safer with it on.

I took the easy way out and bought 2 of these so I can swap between trailers when needed - i put one of each side

theoretically - put a test lamp to pin 2 on your ute connector while someone is putting it in reverse (but not reversing over you ) if its not wired up, simple matter to tap a new wire off the reversing light to the connector

Gidday Redeye. Looks like good value.

Has it got a switch on it or are you stuck with it on when your in reverse?

Do the instructions that come with it give you much info on the wiring alternatives?

haven't got it yet mate and yes, it will be hard-wired to be on when in reverse
    alternatively.....
you'd need to run a lead from the trailer 7 pin connector (a pin not being used) to a switch on your dash and then on to a power source (fuse box or battery) - this would be the positive lead, the earth lead would go to the chassis for earth

Hey Red, getting one done on my trailer over next few weeks. I have electric brakes so I think pin 2 is gone. Will let you know what we do if you still need the info. the trailer builder is installing it

On a 7 pin round plug, your trailer brakes should be the blue wire in pin 5 SEM.
Reverse(black) should go into Pin 2. Just make sure the black is connected at the trailer plug. Then just pick up the black again at the back end of the loom and hook the light onto it.

Ahh ok. They might have to change to a 12 pin plug to give you the extra lines for Aux AND Rev.
