I will say good luck but I'm biased as I bought a Victa 850 commercial self propelled 19" about 2.5 years ago pretty sure it was the most expensive mower I have ever bought and the politest way I can think to review it is that it's probably the last and only Victa I will ever buy
Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you

If l were looking for a catching mower (l dont catch lawwns perd l'd belooking at it closely, l use the mulching version https://www.victa.com/au/en_au/produ...aster-560.html and have it used these for 30+ years now....the only truly commercial mower out there AFAIAC. Since they have switched to GT Agility gearboxes they seem faultless

Just don't know if it has a mulching blade-disc underneath like the Mustang etc. My current Victa has this and it means a lot less catcher emptying because the finer clippings take much longer to fill up the catcher.

Supposedly has a "heavy duty commercial grade gearbox". Time will tell just how heavy duty it is I suppose.
Most likely oval disc and 2 blades,i run oval disc when grass is growing faster and switch to a round disc and 4 blades during the dryer months for a finer finish.Don't know what gearbox that mower has but on the victa mulch master only got about 6-7 months before the gears stripped and locked up the drive wheels.
Let us know if you get one,be interesting to see what they are like.

The link I originally posted to the Victa 21" Commercial (RRP $1499) now goes to a product called "Victa Professional Dummy' with no picture and a price of $1299. It has a cutting width of 22". It's obviously a placeholder page for a new upcoming model. All the dealers pages have changed too.

The only way you can see what I had in mind is if you look at a cached version of their relevant page (see below) but how long that will work for I have no idea.

    https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...&ct=clnk&gl=au

As far as 22" catching mowers go, they do exist. Toro have had a range of 22" catching mowers for years (example below) but the minimum cutting height (25mm) isn't low enough for me and the motor looks a bit too small.

I spoke to Victa and found out that whilst it's not on their website it's still available - the product code is 2691600. If there's none at dealers they can still order it in as there's about 20 left at the warehouse and more coming in March.

Confuses me as to why it was removed from their website.

I bought a Masport 21" SP Contractor last week with B&S 850. I like it so far. It does everything well. 3 speed gearbox- 2nd gear is a brisk walk.

The only thing I see that might be a problem is the new small air filter. When mulching grass that's really too long, it blows out at the front left, right under the air filter.

Me too I got one before new year it’s a beast . I love it especially the wide wheels . Has to get some serious ramps for the Ute though as it’s a heavy fcker but cuts really well and thrives for mulching . The air filter just ensure you keep cleaning it like all engines I guess.
I tried to get the one with the Kawasaki motor but they have been discontinued but the 850 is great .

Yes it's heavy to lift, but still easy to manoeuvre.
I could just lift the HRx & mulchmaster into the back of the ute, but not this one.

Started making a ramp a little while ago as I don't have a mower box on the trailer I'm using now. Tried it out on the job yesterday for the first time.
This is the first prototype, used the second prototype yesterday, and it just needs some weight reductions and should be ok.
