"All sin is washed away in the Holy goodness of Beer"
Book of Redeye, Psalm 69
Seriously working harder than Christmas week with the rain last Thursday & Friday whilst I was away and I re started back on deck New Yrs day. When's the next holiday due - knackered already, hopefully after several 40+ days in row. This Saturday is 41, Sun 38 and there's only 34's after that, so not enough heat to slow the work down enough in my Region for the moment.'
Phone going nuts again and knocking it all back as their newbies calling, madness again.
Cheers Garry
Everybody is comfortably numb
Usually late Jan and across Feb it's 40-42 deg everyday on the Border and one knocks off at 1.30-2.00pm unless your feeling good/travelling well and the jocks sit well that day amongst the dripping sweat and the mud looking arms and you keep going. (Thank you Honda for the Blade Brake, its make life somewhat better.)
Whilst dreaming of those very cold Carlton Draughts in the fridge at home that get demolished before you even get your soaked steel caps off. As your wife looks at you looks at you strangely, as you look/smell rather different to when you left in the early morning. Now close to collapsing covered in sweat/dust only to recover somewhat when given that life saving wonder liquid - a coldie.
That's when it slows up a little enough to get another few days off around a weekend to head off in the Jayco by a river or to Bateman's Bay. But most of my customer base is higher end which I've worked towards and have full watering systems going twice a day, even my commercial clients water. So its planned time off, meaning work backside off before and immediately after a few days off.
I've got more commercial work this week end in the 42 Sat and 38 Sunday heat. But I may pull the pin on this Saturday and be at Tullarmarine Airport by 9.00am to pick up me daughter arriving from spending New Yrs Eve in Hong Kong.
One thing about being up my way is you get conditioned to the heat somewhat (Grrr) being day in - day out with no cool change. Just need to pray that a few storm clouds don't drop some humidity on the super hot days. As in Melb the super heat comes quick from the Nth with wind and the cool change comes and its back to cooler weather.
I was born in Williamstown Vic and live in Melb for 27 Yrs. (Red Rattler, Blue then to Silver train era.)
Forum maybe quite peoples, but there's work to be done out there in Mowerland.
Cheers Garry
