Anything Ian says may or may not be garbage, it may also be his own opinion or it may not be his opinion at all, it may just be something he felt like stating anyone following his advice does so at their own risk and may be doing something Ian would actually advise against.
And if you don't like what Ian has to say use the ignore function if you don't know how ask i will gladly tell you
All these discussions on "which trimmer" i have read many times on the USA forums as the question comes up often Stihl,Echo,Husqvarna or Redmax. The biggest swing goes to the Stihl fs94 delivers more power to the working end and uses less fuel..Just good engineering.
And speaking of Redmax they are getting ready to enter Australia,Redmax is actually a Husqvarna with different colored plastics.
The BushrangerŪ LK27 is only 5.1 kg a 26.3 cc engine putting out 1.1 kW of power "2 Year Commercial Warranty"

STIHL FS 94 C-E Professional Brushcutter is 4.9kg 24.1cc engine only produces 0.9 kW of power

Need probably 26cc+ but machines differ greatly
Reasonably light
It needs to handle 3 weekly growth of kikuyu grass
The Shindaiwa T260 was the best but its not available anymore the BushrangerŪ LK27 is lighter and has more power than the discontinued Shindaiwa T260
The spec you show is on the Stihl bullhorns
Yes granted the Maruyama trimmer is the best choice for a number of reasons but most won't buy them either due to price or no area dealer.Biggest reason for Stihl is dealers everywhere. But when it comes to end power that is seen when machines are all stressed on the same piece of grass to see what the outcome is and Stihl comes out strong
As for longevity Stihl,Echo,Husqvarna for every day use 2-3 years
Maruyama you'd have to get to 8-10
Basically the same price at retail stores e.g.
https://www.mowersupastore.com.au/tr...mmer-l261.html
https://www.mowersupastore.com.au/tr...ushcutter.html
i'd take a maru over stihl for longevity any day

Weight discrepancy between the Bushranger site and Supastore, one reason i went with Stihl at the time being nearly a kg lighter than Bushranger
I can highly recommend the Bushranger L26 trimmer.
I have one which is 5-years old and still has good compression . Nice power /Good balance + weight / solid unit.
Good for Lawns + Clean-ups.
Have recently brought two more units.
The maruyama long reach hedger would have to be one of the best engineered ope product I have used . Built like a Sherman Tank
Cheers Astro.
Light weight and 7 or so hours use per day ?.L261 You're now getting up to the weight of a UMK425 Honda..5.5 V 5.7kg
You are up a KG from the Stihl and 525lst at 4.7 V 4.6kg,i've been through all this over the years buying light to save my back and to stay longer in this business
l'd be wary of buying Bushy gear without knowing for certain its the rebadged Maru - mine is the L26, dont know if the 261 etc are the same or not? They also sell chinese made stuff, no idea who makes it...
