Not true! Just have to pull the line through the holes, not through the slot.

I run 3.3mm Diamond Edge on everything. In fact, I found that thinner line can come through the slot if you hit a stick or what ever. Then end up with a mess.

I dont want it coming through the slots! The 3.3 line does not fit through the slots on the Tanaka head, and Im happy about that!

With 3.9 line on a 45cc you may as just well use a chainsaw

If you're considering Maxi core 2.7mm instead, don't bother in my opinion, sure you'll save $20 for the roll but the diamond edge cuts way way better.

p.s. I use square stuff not sure about round chord.

The Orange Stihl 2.4mm is awesome for normal work, I purchased some red stihl 2.7mm and its nowhere near as good.

Got some maxi core 2.4mm it works ok for the price.

Best stuff I have used was a square black string about 4mm, it was on a 2nd hand machine I purchased so don't know what it was, but was the best I have used for slashing.

We are pretty happy with the 2.7mm diamond edge but i just wondered if it was worthwhile trying out the green round trailblazer instead. I watched an ad for it:
    http://www.gaspares.com.au/TrimmerLine%2030R1.mpg
and it mentions that trailblazer "makes breakages a thing of the past" and diamond edge has "greater cutting power"
just got me thinking would the round be better for regular use and diamond for rough stuff ? or same sh$% diff colour?!

I use lightning square cord from ASP products. Made in France. Google ASP products. I use it in with a speed feed head and it is the best in my opinion. Some of the low noise stuff is good as well.
Don't buy the cheap stuff from bunnings it's a total waste of time and money.
