So.....are the following prices reasonable for quoting prospect clients?:

between $30 - $60 for units and house size lawns using mow, edge and blow,
    Weed spraying an extra $10 - 30,
feral backyard clean ups around $500,
gutter cleaning between $110 and $220 depending on dry materials or sludge,
high pressure cleaning from $140 for a small driveway and around $600 for roof tiles.

Different towns (even suburbs) will have different "going rates" for various types of yard work, so sussing out the competitor's prices (via a phone call from yourself/ someone you know) will give you an average price of what is considered "acceptable" by your prospective customers.
We do most of our advertising in the Local Directories (like yellow pages) but you would have to be starting up at the right time of year in order to get your ad in these, as they close taking new ads well before publication date. Most of our work comes from the ad' we have placed in this media.
Real estate agents can also become good contatct points, referring work to you for tidy-ups, bond refund work, etc. We get quite a bit of work that way, and they also refer their tenants to us if they ask for recommendations of local workers.
For word-of-mouth referrals to flow through it's important your quality of our work is up to scratch. To boost things along, you can do little extras (gratis) if there is the time e.g. a spot of weeding, removing a few dead leaves...it all increases the goodwill, and will earn you appreciation - it's easily done in the early days of your business when you have more spare time to put into doing some little extras.
Remember to give the job a final scan when you've finished, to pick up anything you may have overlooked, and to give yourself a mental pat on the back for a job well done. Ca$h is only one form of payment we get in this kind of work - satisfaction in a job well done is another
