Default Some of the long "lawns" we have mowed

This is one of the longest lawns we have had to do in a residential setting. We gave up on the idea of using the Rover's catcher early on and resorted to using the whippersnipper around the edges as much as possible and setting the mower up in "slasher" mode. Raking up the swathes of grass and giving it a final tidy brought it up looking quite civilised, but I forgot to take an photo after we had finished. (I may have been too exhausted )

Mick has it right. Work out how long it will take you (that's the tricky part) Then add a very hefty profit margin and factor in dumping ( ie the cost to dump an your time doing it) and add at lest 25% onto that. When you get a final figure add a bit more to cover anything unforseen. We do quite a few jobs like this and they are good money spinners. You don't need tractors or ride ones. Best way to attack it is whippersnip as low to the ground as possible then rake it up then mow it and your done.
    Cheers

Thats a classic! I surprised you didnt find a striped car in that lot! Maybe a few empty Jim Beam or Bundy bottles. Check your tires for syringe's! Slow leaks are a pita!

Thanks Redeye, I spent over 20 years on the open downs country in west Qld, so I had a longing for trees and hills when I left. This fit the bill nicely, and as a bonus I have a lot of my work up on the Bunya Mountains just up the road a bit.

Not as long as some of yours but thick Kikuyu on a steep hill was a bit of fun today took 3 passes to get it good.

BTW how do you guys get yourselfs out of bogs? We have a front end loader at the school so we just hook up a chain and pull but do you guys have 4x4 with winches?
