Another weed around here is the chonky apple bush (aka Chinese apple/ zizpyhus mauritiana). We had a fun job yesterday chopping down one of these "bushes" that had been allowed to grow in the back yard of a rental property. This one was well over 3 m tall and bound up by assorted vines as well
They have nasty thorns on them, so Vince got around that by wearing two sets of gloves when he was carting it off to the trailer (his standard leather ones and a pair of sturdy welding gloves over the top). I got to cut it back very carefully with bypass loppers, then a pruning saw for the base bits that were too thick for the loppers. What whopping "bushes" these can grow into if left untended...not very family-friendly either with all those thorns.
