Question Mulching adapter for Honda HRU195 mower

There is a mulching kit available for the HRU195 mower which I am wondering if it works well or not.

Has anyone got a review or opinion on this mulching kit which they can share with me, before I spend some hard earned?

I see that mowers like the Toro Super Recycler have a bar blade instead of a swing blade so that the mulched grass can really get chopped up fine before it is returned to the ground. Does the HRU195 have optional blades that can be fitted which will work better in a mulching configuration in conjunction with the mulching adapter kit than the current swing blade arrangement?

    Thanks in advance!

I can now answer my own question.

I bought the mulcher kit for the Honda, and fitted the low lift blades which suit mulching.

All I can say is, the Honda is a great catcher mower but not a great mulching mower.

If you reckon it doesn't mulch too well, wait till you try to catch with it with those low lift blades on in the wet lol!

Thanks for that - I now know why my 196 doesn't catch properly when the ground is damp, never mind wet.

I have 2 low and 2 hi lift on my honda, but I think I might try 4 hi lift for winter and see if it gives a better cut mulching or catching. worth a try.

4 high flutes will make a big difference the high fluted blades will give u more air flow its all about engineering design.

leave the high blades, i use mulcher on a hell of alot of my jobs, does a great job, helps the grass and I saw the guy the other day who mows the next door neighbour of one of my clients's "yellow lawn" with a catcher mower and he asked me how I kept the one I do green, I told him using the mulcher certainly helps...the $30 that the plug costs makes a hell of alot of more money than that with the time saving!!!!

you save the cost back very quickly from time saved, less effort [not having to empty the catcher]and the cost saving of not having to dispose of the clippings

    Indeed!!!

I have saved alot of effort and made more money each day by being able to add more jobs into the day...I can add on average 4 or 5 more jobs into a day, so instead of doing 6-8 per day I do 12+
