Smile More suggestions - thread titles & duplications, Birthday thread

    1. We need to be more judicious before starting new threads. Seems many multiple threads rehash the same information. Before starting a new thread, suggest we first search if that topic has already been started then add to that. It would be good if Admin could combine some threads of same topic. I understand new forum members get a 'rule book' for forum use. If not already included in this, advice to search the forum for threads that may already answer their question rather that start another thread would be appropriate. Perhaps when trying to start a new thread, a timely reminder at this time to search for relevant existing threads would be warranted.

Hi! I'm new here, need some help! (No offense intended...)
When sifting through hundreds of posts, we rely on descriptions to help us find the information we want. Please use meaningful titles for threads and messages.

    3. We welcome and appreciate new forum members, but do we really want each new member to start a new thread to introduce themselves? I suggest having ONE Introduce Yourself thread.

    4. Finally, will this forum soon be bursting at the seems from new threads started each year for each member's birthday? Suggest ONE Birthday thread for all.

Does the above seem reasonable to you, people?

I don't have any recommendations on improving the forum as I already think its the bees knees.

But I do want to Thank Admin and the team for making it even better and congratulate them on their handling of the biggest crisis this forum has seen since Ian's Apology to the stolen generation.

I thinks its a great outcome and really appreciate the time effort and money that goes into running this invaluable free resource.

Makes me even prouder to be a Indy member.

    Well Done

I agree with BGS people take for granted the hours Admin put into the site and to make everyone happy is downright impossible,I suggest a few individuals take a deep breath and smell the roses now and then.Admin should be congratulated on there fast action they took to rectify the situation on the EDIT and MEMBER IDENTIFICATION

No matter how good a forum, a person, a business or anything else becomes, there is always something that can and should be worked on and improved.

However, I wholeheartedly agree with everything else Bgs stated here. Things that were important to some members of this forum were changed quickly, and some of us who were upset enough about it to consider leaving a really great forum were actually listened to and made happy by the outcome.
Thankyou so much Dean, you've treated us all equally, and by equally I mean you've treated us all really well.

Wow, looks like plenty has happened since my last visit to the forum, good to see everyone is keeping themselves amused and putting their 2cents worth in.

Members of ILMCOA versus non-members, mmm, come on guys, join up and there won't be an issue, and surely there are bigger issues for us to address.

Good to hear we have an edit button now, that will make life easier for us.

I'd like to see a dedicated section on the forum for Occ Health and safety. Would be a valuable section me thinks. People might like to share their own plans and JSEA's etc...

By the way congrats to the admin team on acting on some improvments already for us all...keep up the good work

Seems spam posts are on the rise...

People - likely admin doesn't have the time to crawl the forum and check each post. If we use the "report bad post" button diligently to alert admin to these, we may make it a lot easier for him to address. Perhaps this could be automated somewhat?? (eg. 10 reports in 24 hours and system automatically deletes post)

Perhaps 'membership' should be screened and involve more that just signing up. A check of member details would reveal much.
