Angry INDI Forum goes XXX and hosts porn pictures!

Admin - INDI Forum goes XXX and hosts porn pictures!
    Latest spam post - http://www.indmowing.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=2551

    Please delete post ASAP.

I again suggest that while guests are welcome, forum members' details should be confirmed BEFORE access to posting and leaving pictures is permitted.

Additionally, perhaps only INDI members should be able to post pictures and hyperlinks.

I would'nt mind some of that biltong...bloody good stuff.. I was taught how to make it when I was in Karumba. We used the back strap from brumbies. Great with beer. A good story about making it for another time

Back on the topic I think a library or downloads section would be great. I would love to have a visual thing on the types of lawns and their care that i could download for clients or just for me to ID what the lawn is.

It would be great for manuals and forms. I have seen this working on another forum I belong to but it is not vBulletin and maybe vBulletin cannot do it.

On the other forum mebers upload docs to the library which is sorted by category and other members can download them for use.

I think something like this for this forum would be great.

I disagree. What David was saying and I support is that Admin verfies that the person requesting membership is valid BEFORE they can post.

For the spammers (and most are bots) all they need to do is post the once and that is it. They have made their money and move on.

It does not matter if you are an Indy member or a Member of the Forum just as long as you are a valid member and not a spammer. I hate spammers with a passion and anything we can do to give them the ****s the better

    Fixing "bot spamming" is easy.

Just install a captcha script. so we have to type a couple of letters/numbers from a small image before posting. Robots can't recognise the display on the image and can't post...

    Example:

    Hi,

I just noticed this post, and I am not familiar with how this forum is setup. However, I know when we signed up we had to complete the image verification - which I would have thought would have been some type of security measure against this problem.

You'd know more than me since your the programmer... but i think it depends how the captcha is configured.

If the captcha was set up for individual posting as well as the sign-up it should also help. Especially if the configeration is different for each.
