    Default Gear Box Cover Plate?

    Alright lads,

I have a honda 216 and there's a hole in the 'gear box cover plate'.

I have no idea what it's really called, I think the yanks call it a 'baffle'...

Its visible from the back (bag off, guard flap up) on the left hand side.

Thing is I've looked over the internet and can't find any info on it.

The guy at the mower shop reckons no-one ever asks for them but he's sourced one in brisbane for $33.

Anyone know of anywhere I may be able to source one myself?

Or if this is reasonable I'll just grab that one...

    Cheers

Grab it. And grab a Rover when your cashed up.

price seems about right. I paid under $40 for mine from a Honda dealer so I think $33 is a fair price. Its main purpose is to hold the gearbox in place when you alter the height. the plate to the right, scroll plate, is the one that normally gets replaced mainly due to corrosion and rust. your not going to get it anywhere else unless someone is scrapping a mower.

So he imports a 216 from the U.S. and 14 days later the gearbox or engine plays up..Is he going to be covered with warranty ?
Or does he fork out his $$ to get fixed ?

I think he's talking about the 217 which has proven to be extremely reliable. Just read the thread on the HRX 217.

The big question would have to be..will it pick up wet grass and if it does can it fill the catcher.
If not what's the point of having it.

We're off topic here, but that question has already been answered with a big yes, just read the thread.

    OFF TOPIC.....
Its either the USA Honda or the Rover.
The HRX 217 sounds so much better than the Rover and the 216 AUST Honda.
    Ive been reading both threads....

One of each. Used the HRX in decent rain today just to finish a job. While it wasn't perfect it still picked up thick wet kyk. Better than the 216. I want the rover as a backup, but also for the lawns were I need to go a little higher or lower.

Jeez talk about a can of worms!
I suppose you'd never really know till you'd tried both, so maybe one of each is the way to go.....
By the way can some one give me the link to the HRX 217 thread please?
